Today we visit the BC Hydro EV Fast Charger and do another fast charger review. Spoiler alert: this is one of the best 50kW charging options in British Columbia, Canada right now in 2021. Lots of locations throughout the province (even in small towns) make this a very appealing choice. Watch the video for the full review.
You’re videos are providing important information for people considering buying an ev. It also shines a light on what is going on at gas stations. Good job
Thanks for this review. I'm glad to be able to cross the border again since I'm vaccinated so it's good to know about the BC Hydro chargers. One correction, you keep saying kwh when referring to charging speed. Kwh refers to stored capacity in the battery and kw refers to speed of charging.
We just got the same car as you. Year model and colour. So much fun to drive. Great videos about charging here in BC. Just wondering what app you are using in the car to show battery status.
I'm glad you're enjoying the Kia. The app I use is Android only and is called Soul Spy. To make it work you will also need an OBD dongle and the one I recommend is the OBDLink LX (availabe via Amazon or their official website).
Most of the better diagnostic apps are Android only unfortunately. I had to buy an Android phone to use them as I much prefer and iPhone especially while in the car using CarPlay.

Thanks, I try to show both sides, the good and bad when it comes to EV ownership.
This is very close to my workplace so I recognize that area.

Thanks. Good catch. I will make sure to remember this for future reviews.
Do a review of the charging in Quebec. The ccs network is really strong there.
Planning a trip out to Quebec soon. I've heard that the infrastructure there is amazing, so will need to check this out myself.
Now there are 150kwh chargers from BC hydro
I heard that they are now using ABB units in some locations...next time I am in BC I will have to have a look.

@@LeftCoastEV won’t be getting that then. Apple phone.
