The gospel has become so watered down that perversion and corruption of scripture has become normalized. Don’t get sucked in to the ways of the world. Stand firm in your faith. Romans 12:2
I fully agree with you on christians shouldn't have sinful prefixes like gay or murder etc. But im going to push back on your conclusion...we KNOW we are in the era of identity politics (which the church and lecrae shouldn't be apart of). Saying imma gay Christian could mean im attracted to the same sex with abd i indulge in it while being christian or it could mean im attracted to men and struggle with it but dont indulge and i profess Christ . Based on the podcast the guy is the latter. Therefore his only error here is labelling himself struggles. Lecrae could have pushed back on that and said hey...dude you're just Christian. I dont think that constitutes Lecrae FALLING OFF THE DEEP END. that sounds like a sellout or comprimised christian. Which i think is too heavy.
In my opinion if you identify with your sin or your struggles you cannot also identify with Christ. You cannot serve 2 masters. The theology in believing that this is a possibility is wrong. If you ask me, Lecrae took this as an opportunity to stir up conflict and confusion in the christian community for likes and clicks. Which would constitute selling out. I feel as christians we need to do a better job of holding other christians accountable especially the ones with a platform and influence.
I do think Lecrae did a good job with loving like Christ did, cause only Jesus can convict us (and on top of that, only through Jesus we can get to Heaven, John 14:6). But I think Lecrae didn't challenge David's sin enough. We can't identify with sin; we have sin like nature yeah, but we are a new creation in Christ. Jesus died for us and saved us. I think Lecrae should be in our prayers, and I think we should also just give him some grace, cause at the end of the day he is not perfect.
Don’t confuse love with enablement. Love is also correction. Rebuking his doctrine would still be out of love if presented correctly. Nobody is perfect and we must pray for everybody I agree
I watched that Lecrae episode and so UA-cam suggested this video ( which seems like that was the intent of the salacious title). The Lecrae interview seems to be taken out of context here. The message was not "Being a gay Christian." The man being interviewed seemed to be saying that his lust made him choose to live a gay life and that JESUS changed his life. He said " I didn't become Christian to sudeenly become straight... I became Christian to love Jesus." That's the first step in his journey. Let's have faith that God will do the rest. The sexuality of his lust became irrelevant to the core of the message which was to follow God's commands and serve him. It's a shame that we can't just love Jesus and pray to the Holy Spirit to guide us to change our sin without other Christians judging our progress.
Like I told somebody else, you cannot IDENTIFY with sin and Christ at the same time. Its impossible. Can you struggle and be in Christ? Yes of course. Lots of people struggle win sin from lust to lying to everything in between, but saying "I am (sin) and Christian" it doesnt work. Christians need to step up and realize that correcting wrong theology is not condemnation of man but condemnation of sin. We are called to judge righteously in a sense of keeping other Christians on the narrow path.
I remember when I thought I had all the answers and if you didn’t agree then you were wrong. And because I got these views from the Bible and believed God was revealing the truth to me, I very subtly created a god in my own image. I found a tribe of believers that agreed which served as confirmation bias. It’s wild that one can consume themselves in one theological path and not consider that it resonated with you because of the limited life experiences and subconscious needs within. “I’m right because this is what God says” but really it could just be what resonates with you and that’s just a hod created in your own image. LeCrae is getting into the nuances that each person wrestles through and when we feel we need to correct, we should make sure it’s not ego. Do you trust God to change hearts? Then let him. He doesn’t need you to tell people they’re wrong.
There is only one theological path. Jesus is the way the truth and the light. The road to salvation is narrow. These are biblical. I do believe God can and does change hearts. As believers we are also called to hold other believers accountable. It’s called righteous judgement. Read Matthew 18: 15-20 and read 1 Timothy 6: 3-5
@ i think as humans we are very good at creating simple frameworks to help us navigate the complexities of life. If we are not careful, we disregard nuances and “stand firm” on aspects that fit our bubble of interpretation without careful consideration of the nuances and how Jesus would respond and how our interpretations may be unintentionally connected to our limited perspectives. Often well intentioned but more divisive than unifying. We convince ourselves we are being loving by pointing out truth but it can be hard to discern any cognitive dissonance we may be bringing into the thought process. That’s why I think we should listen with a loving heart and be slow to speak and carefully consider those nuances.
Lecrae been off the deep end ever since he forsook the faith, and had his meteoric rise. Don’t forget that he was part of “that world” and admitted to attending Diddy parties (a thing that I don’t believe was scrutinized deeply enough by those who claim to love and care about his soul). Ever since he returned, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and hoped he was not a double agent. You give him the benefit of the doubt but watch for the fruit and he needs to be careful because Jesus also said “woe to any of you who causes any of my children to stumble. It would be better to have an anchor tied around your neck and be thrown in the sea”. And having a guest like that confuse the struggling saints in this manner is a stumbling block. Let’s keep him and others in prayer.
So who is the only judge for whom knows the Father? I am a Christian but I also am an Alcoholic! Great fully recovering alcoholic! Alcoholism is genetic and I was born with this genetically infused in my blood! God is my father and creator I can only identify as a Christian in this world but does not mean I am spiritual connection and no matter what I am an alcoholic and always will be as I was born created in God's image of his plan for my life in flesh I did not choose being an alcoholic I had to accept it and never forget that step one step 3 turn will and desire of my life 100% for God's will be done! I can't say being gay is not genetic born as the creator intended so love all accept all in actions that show love of acceptance that God's love his will not ours to judge our neighbor but love thy neighbor more than your self!!! God is the judge not us or you!!!
God is the only eternal judge. We are called to use righteous judgment to point back to the cross. You don’t have to accept alcoholism. You accepting it is essentially you denying Gods healing power. People forget that loving thy neighbor also means correcting thy neighbor if they’re out of line. Loving doesn’t mean accepting false theology to make somebody feel good

Lecrae now isn’t the same Lecrae that made the Rebel Album.
It's called growing

I liked the reference to Jesus being tempted with word, great connection. God bless
God bless 🙏🏽

LOOK FORWARD TO THIS

Definitely need to keep him in prayer yes. You said nothing wrong
Good on u for calling stuff out. Need more content pushing christian rappers to obedience to the word.
Sounds like o boy put himself over Jesus. Normally we say “Jesus, take the wheel”. But in this case it’s Jesus take a seat.
Culture over Conviction

Its sad that Lecrea doesn't challenge anything. if he did not agree he was just saying uhmm uhmmm all the time.
