It's so frightening when the radiologist says, " I think we need to biopsy that." Thankfully, my lump was benign but it's always better to know than to live with the fear.

Yes, it can be very scary for sure. But it is best to get it checked. I am glad your lump was benign.

Will cancer escaped from the contained lump fr the biopsy site and create more damage in the entire body by combining it in bloodband lymphatic system?

If a lump in the breast is biopsied it doesn’t make it spread elsewhere or damage it even more.

Are markers necessary??? I dont want the marker but im told the doctor maybe not perform the biopsy without a marker being left in

They are helpful as they inform the radiologists and surgeons the area that has been biopsied. This is particularly helpful if there are no lumps to feel.

I had my biopsy done a week ago, and will revisit the doctor for review in the coming Monday. Feeling stressed, and also at the site of biopsy (mine was mammogram guided core needle biopsy) it now not only has severe bruises, internally i can also feel something hard, wonder if that is normal, prior to the biopsy i actually do not feel any lumps.

Did this subside? Do you know if they left a marker in ur breast? Markers are small metal pieces used to mark the spot.

@@meshisha77 yes they left a marker. My review came back as benign but they left the marker anyway. Been a few months now, the lump part is gone but still slightly bruised.

@@veronicaoliveiro6367Oh that's really sad please share your further experience. As it is helpful for so many other ladies around here. How are you feeling now? And does that metal piece hurt or has any side effects?

@@Lifeandstyleinmyway There is still a very slight bruise which I suspect will never go away, since it’s been a while. I am good though, the report says benign and I only need to go back in 2 years time for general mammograms tests. The marker can’t be felt so there is no discomfort. I pray all us ladies stay alert and protect ourselves. The best is yet to come 🙏

@@veronicaoliveiro6367 oh I see, actually Dr has asked me that either should go for biopsy or wait for 6 months but I said okay we can go with biopsy as it's not good to wait for 6 months to check the size of lump, what if even after that I have to go for same so yeah and best whishes for you too. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Hello. Can I ask if it is okay to go back to work the next day after the core needle biopsy? I am a factory worker. Thank you in advance for the response Doc.😊

Hi. In general people can continue as normal after
      a biopsy.
