You dont know blues my boy. Blues is not about the best, its a feeling, you have so much to learn. John wouldnt be anything without blind willy johnson or robert johnson
@@messi5601 ,of course you are right. John Lee is just my favourite and I adore all bluesmen from Robert Johnson to SRV, even many guys that are keeping today the blues alive. I like his special way of making blues music and singing it and that he never stopped giving great music until the last years of his life, music that today is a significant part of humanity's culture.
@William Bonny bb king was no influence to john lee hooker bro, otherwise i could say albert king, muddy waters, albert collins etc. Robert johnson and blind willy johnson where before john lee hooker. But never the less bb is and will always be king of the blues
The biggest influence to John Lee was an obscure bluesman called William Moore who happened to be his stepfather and taught him to play the blues the way he does.. His big talent did the rest.
Great guitar solo by the guy in the white shirt. For some reason while he is playing the solo they show everyone but him. I believe his name is Mike Osborn and he plays in a band named the Coast to Coast Blues Band which was put together by JLH's nephew Archie Lee Hooker.
I heard a documentary that this artist John Lee was not so great as an artist, but after he signed a contract with the chief, he became extremely famous and powerful in his performances
I woke up in the morning .. at two o'clock .. and immediately realized .. you left me .. well, so what ?? - I said to myself !!!! I'll get drunk anyway ... fur coat ... oak aee BLUZZZ)))))
Yeah, probably not the best output for the director here -- way too much unnecessary jumping around to different camera angles and never a good isolation on the guitar solo!
Does anybody notice a little resemblance to the original "Suzie Q"? Especially with slight changes to words? Of course it was slowed down but kept a lot of funkiness.
John Lee Hooker.
Not only King of the Boogie but also King of the Blues!
The greatest bluesman that set a foot on this planet!

Guitarist plays solo
Camera man: let’s film everyone else in the band
Lol!😄
I was searching for this comment! The director was 100% idiot. (There were some camera men, so the director choose what to show and what not to.)
Hahahah, exactly my thought

Why it's so damn difficult for some camera guys to get a camera on the guy playing the solo is something I guess I'll never know.

Way too much rockin’. Not ‘nuf blues in this performance. Just saying.
Exactly. Most of the people behind him were really unnecessary.
@@nexusi6867 very true my man. But these musicians were honoring John.
I don't think it sounds a lot more rock than his original studio version.
Reincarnated, Kendrick Lamar
