@@TnTTyler Almost 3whp on an untuned NA setup. That translates to somewhere around 5-6 crank hp like they claimed untuned. They claimed anywhere from 5-10. I’m sure with colder intake temps like if you were out on the road and not stationary on a dyno you’d pull more towards that top portion of the gain. Also just because you don’t see a huge peak power difference doesn’t mean the response isnt greatly improved and the power curve in the lower rpms has been improved as well as a more efficient spark for better operation (better mpg). Just my two cents but i’m also trying to defend my almost $400 purchase 😂

Great video you are very thorough. The manufacturer recomends using 91+ octane fuel with these. If you use 87 octane, does it cause knocking in the engine?? Have you had any problems running lower octane fuel??

As for the fuel i just double checked ripps website and for their coil packs there is no mention of 91 octane that i could find seeing that they just increase the amount of voltage going to the spark plugs it wouldnt make sense to really need it..... i dont think.... however to answer your question i have no issues and no knock however i know of 2 other people who have had a coil pack go bad and create a cylinder miss fire. Ripp replaced it free of charge but it isnt an easy thing to get to so keep that in mind

If anyone thinks a slightly higher voltage coil pack is going to make a 30 hp gain or any tangible economy benefit on a factory engine they clearly are insane. If they found this in a dyno test, sorry for the but they did something else they didn't tell you. Especially off the line when there is no strain on the ignition system anyway.

But i cannot explain why but the jeep seems to run smoother which is weird since the stock packs didn’t have that many miles on them in the first place but they did seem to make some sort of difference with no other variables to explain it

No edited intro over just pumping for subs, no updated description or pinned comment. He mentions he has another update video where he cover this...so you can I guess watch the 3+ video series instead of 1 just to learn this is evidently not nearly as reliable as the OEM product. Not a channel I will be looking to for concise, informative content for product research. Also, RIPP's technical assertion is a 10% higher energy output over stock coils "adding up to 15-20hp." If I can find the accurate info in 30s vs your lazy, inaccurate recollection, why would I come to you for informative content? I think flat fenders impact fuel efficiency at highway speed because of the pocket of air they essentially trap in the wheel wheel.

I had 4 failures, all under the intake. RIPP was an absolutely terrible company to deal with.
