The Quebecois are like the French Canadian secular Amish and perceive the US Americans as "Englishers"

French is dead in Louisiana, It's more alive in New Brunswick and in Northeast Ontario. I think at this point Quebec will be just an independent country associated with the European Union.

I feel like this would result in adoption of a French-like two-round system, where the top two presidential candidates advance to the second round if nobody gets an absolute majority in the first round.

Some of this is correct, but some states will flip more Republican after a merger. The new Americans will be interested in how their state operates in America in each political parties interpretation of 'state power' vs Federal power...Conservative Republicans believe states have the power for laws as long as its not overstepping the Constitution. Liberal Democrats believe the Federal Government is in main charge with helpful input from the states...elections make everything happen in America and they're held every 2 years....So races will be competitive for years to come but many Americans will be invested in one another for the foreseeable future

Most of Canada besides maybe Alberta or Saskatchewan would vote safe D, imo. Conservatives in Canada are highly similar to the Democrats in the US and Canadians would not want to lose their Free Healthcare, protections, among other things.
But I comment this as an American, so Canadians can go ahead and criticize this if they feel my opinion is wrong.

Sounds good to me, no one would mess with all of us, the wealth generated would be un heard of for generations.

As a person who live in the states and know the politics, you are off a little. Maine and New Hampshire for example are democrats states. Any states in the northeast you should chalk up for democrats. Oklahoma is hardcore Republican. California is liberal as it get. But yeah Maine and New Hampshire will never vote Republican. Massachusetts and Vermont will be hard liberal. DSA states… you’ll have to look at NV, AZ, UT…

OR, WA, & HW are definitely safe for DSA/NDA.

New York would obviously be Dem/Lib, I think Florida at this point is a solid Rep/Con state, Wisconsin is a lean Dem/Lib, meanwhile Louisiana would lean Rep/Con. California would be a tossup between the NDP and Dem/Lib’s.

We should opt for an EU model with a common currency. We keep our flags our capitals our national anthems our olympic teams just like Europeans do today. We can make a North American Union Flag too . We should move to open borders and a common currency called the dollar. It should have nobodys queen on it nor anyones president but pictures of Great North Americans like Thomas Edison and north american animal and landscapes like mountain lions and Niagara falls. To see how its done look to Europe. We would be the largest and richest economy in the world. For our common authoritarian opponents it would be checkmate. Over time as our southern neighbors become wealthier we can in vite them to join. Partnered with an expanding NATO and EU we would be unstoppable.

I from the Netherlands and I am hugely in favo(u)r of the EU, yet we have so many more cultural differences, not only between countries but also within countries, even more than within the USA I believe. Yet it works. The potential of CA and USA merger is absolutely insane. Same language, all the resources, by far the biggest country in the world, tehcnologically top notch, there would not even be a chance that China would become the new future world power I think.
I also believe the Canadian parties can reduce the stalemate of the Democrats vs the Republicans in the USA, which would be benificial for anyone in america.

I am glad I rn live in a conservative state. We don’t get riots a lot except in major cities. Just recently my state legalized constitutional carry. I couldn’t be more happier. But I think there is more to it if Canada joined the US. For example America’s healthcare system is a joke. In turn If Canada joins the US there will have to be free healthcare for Canadians to agree. And also the second amendment will have to still be in the constitution for Americans to agree as well. Because the second amendment is highly valued by Americans. There is still more stuff to talk about if Canada joins the US as a united country.

@@jsvalina3503 true. Americans and Canadians are basically brothers. But Americans became a nation out of Revolution while Canadians became a nation out of evolution. If ya get what I mean.

@@KnightofGaming1118 For sure there are differences. I lived in northern Maine on the border, lol. But ,the benefits of a merger have the potential for some very good things both socially and economically for both countries. but there is also potential for catastrophic failure.
