Wow, this is absolutely mesmerizing! 😍 It's incredible to think that we are witnessing the birth of a new meteor shower, the Lambda Sculptorids, thanks to the Earth passing through the remnants of comet 46P/Wirtanen. Front row seats in New Zealand - what an amazing opportunity! 🌠 To think that most meteor showers have been known for ages, and here we are, in the right place at the right time for something completely new and rare. Nature's wonders never cease to amaze! 🌌 Let's all take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the cosmos and the unique experiences it brings us. Thanks for sharing this extraordinary event with us! 🚀✨ *quack*
Hey Logan, I really hope it’s clear for you tomorrow mate🤞It would be great for you to be able to capture the meteor shower! Can’t believe the number of cameras in NZ capturing all those meteors!! Clear skies👍
Thanks Simon. Looking pretty cloudy at the moment 🫣. It may not be the most spectacular meteor shower but being able the witness a new one is very rare.
The East coast of Aussie might have been dark enough to catch the latter part of it being 2 hrs behind. Geminids should be more impressive (fingers crossed).
Don't forget your Tin Hat!
I wasn't being rude by the way!
“Yeah that’s her”👽
“You’re coming with us”🚀
Fortunately I already have one in preparation for the alien invasion and zombie apocalypse 😂😂
It’s not every day you witness something so spectacular! 💫
Yes, a rare opportunity for sure and little old NZ is in the prime location

Yep indeed. This is quite a rare opportunity so fingers and toes and everything else crossed for a break in the clouds tonight.
Good luck with the skies Logan hopefully it turns out clear for you to capture this one.
Forecast looking pretty dodgy at present but as they say on Stingray, “anything can happen in the next half hour”

What about Australia for the 12th. Excited Gemini here. Lol

What an exciting event, wonder if it's called *Lamb*da because it's over New Zealand 🐑
Haha I like your thinking there but I was too sheepish to suggest that.
Why did the meteor apply for a job?
It wanted a career with more impact!
Haha, you burn me up 😂😂
Heading to Queenstown tommorow would be nice to see meteors produced the same year as me haha
Haha excellent - here’s hoping it’s clear down there to help you celebrate that day.
Shooting in the direction of the comet? please
If you want to get the radiant point, shoot towards the Sculptor constellation. So kind of north to north west and up about 60degrees upwards or so
