We`ve made alot of photos and laser scans of a church as well. The thing is, that our laserscans are all black and white. Will it still work to combine the scans and the images and if yes, are there certain criteria we will have to pay attention to?
It is recommended to scan with color but RealityCapture can also align laser scans without color with images automatically. I tested it. You need to take images from around the position of the laser scanner so there is enough overlap between the images and the lsp generated from the laser scan
Did you have to manually pick control points and match them between laser scanner cloud of point and pictures? I belief three points is the minimum to obtain coordinates and have the same scale in model as from the laser scanner.
In this case no control points were used at all. The alignment worked just based on the detected features in the images and lsp from the laser scanner.

I can't get mine to align. any tips?
Are you using enough and well placed control points?
