This is also how Indians have slowly started to speak in English. Twenty or so years ago, when Indians started using the Internet and mobile phones, there was no widespread support of Unicode for Indian languages. So Indians started to use English/Latin script to write their languages when using tech. This made using English words easier. So slowly we switched to using English when writing and switch to our own languages when speaking. Now, English has creeped into our spoken languages too. Now we consider English easier to use as India is very diverse (grand scale Arunachal Pradesh). This is good as long as we don't completely stop using our native languages. As you said, many Indian languages are on the verge of going extinct. We must try to prevent that.

Again, it also shows how a dialect gets generated within less than 60 years.

Hindi doesn't belong to any state. It's just a lingua franca, every state or region has its own regional language like maithili, bhojpuri , awadhi , marwari etc. Local styles or influence just makes hindi sound better. We must praise the Sayaars of bollywood like great Majruh Sultanpuri , Sahir Ludhianwi & Shailendra ji for popularizing Hindi dialect. Bollywood played very important role in popularizing Hindi. Present Govt must pay attention to Bollywood films & song 'quality if it wants to promote the usage of Hindi.

it very well, then others can too. Public language , You have to make it TRUELY National or True Hindi , even if it does move away from " khadi boli". Words like "Hungama " " Curry" etc are from South tamil, entered in Hindi , true Hindi must have words from all regions. If Hindi becomes inflexible then it would loose it's dynamism & soft power. A true Hindi must have to be understood by Maximum people , even outsiders like Bangladeshis ( they understand very well, due to Bollywood), Afganistanis , Pakis.uzbegs, & far away. It's our market. As someone who is interested in languages,I feel sad the local native languages are becoming extinct faster. My mother tongue is Hindi but still I feel that expansion of Hindi language at the cost of extinction of local languages is undesireable and at many extent it is painful too. Because language itself is not just a means of communication but also carries the history, culture, food habits and lot more with it. When I say language,it includes dialects too. So,when a language disappears,it is like that part of whole history, culture, folk stories and songs everything disappears.
There should be a way out to slow down the speed of language extinction. I said 'slow down' because it is natural process that the language giving you wider exploration scope will take over the one with 'lesser' scope.
I think first of all, people should take pride in speaking and knowing mother tongue and dialect. Secondly, the documentation of the language and literature part has to be done to preserve and conserve. Thirdly, the 'main' language speaker has to broaden the mindset and appreciate the other language. If not gonna try to learn it,atleast appreciate who is speaking rather than frowning upon that.
I would also like to suggest you to cover different languages and dialect as the contents on cloud never disapper. It may help someone in future who wants to revive it.
The revival of forgotten languages or extincting language is possible if people put effort collectively. Although a daunting task but possible.
    Good luck to you!
