3:48 "Comparison is the thief of joy" is a statement that I believe can be of great benefit/sentiment to both new and experienced speedrunners. Good to see you two hold that sentiment in your run. Well done on getting sub 15!
Excellent job!! Sub-15 is always a challenge no matter what the missions are, and it’s quite the impressive speed. I loved your route on stage 2, and your sludge build was a great choice for that run. But most of all I loved the positivity from the both of you. Even when things went wrong (the final egg on stage 3), it was just shrugged off and you both maintained focus. As Olaf said: “it’s fine, we’re doing good on time” In my experience, the more you run the same dive, the easier it is to get frustrated - even over a tiny mistake. So I love that you both maintained that positivity throughout the entire run no matter what the situation was. Well done! ⛏️
⛏ Thank you!!! It's interesting to see how routes had to be reshaped according to what we could do, what our weapons choices were, as well as our play abilities. That was such a fun thing to learn, and coming from you, the compliment on the routing is very much appreciated. I'm glad that the attitude appealed. Especially since both of us could see the mistakes and the things we could improve, so it wasn't just rose colored glasses. And it was so much more fun if we don't tilt. And call-outs are hard in DRG, as the map and stuff isn't as fixed so you have to make them up on the fly. I am all the more appreciative of how you and your folks know exactly what they're going to get even more now.
Pfff. I could do that. [Edit]It's worth noting that the "Stop hitting me" was me yelling at the bugs, not at Auto. Didn't even know Auto was shooting them off my back.
What was your rationale behind your weapon and mod choices for this? Just curious why you went with lower mag size. I like the larger puddles, but I also like not having to reload as much. Just curious!
It was because the last shot of each mag can do a full charged shot. So having the smaller mag size meant that, if I were better at being conscious about when I was on the last shot, I could actually get more charged shots out of it. And with testing I was able to cover the whole area with about three charged shots. In practice, I don't think I was as cognizant of when that was something I could do; but I also appreciated the bigger puddles on the defense.
