A hilarious real life Martin Short moment was the 2013 Grey Cup here in Regina . Marty is a Ti Cats fan, being from Hamilton. He showed up and brought Tom Hanks with him! They had fun interacting with fans on both sides. Once the Riders started to pull way ahead on the scoreboard , Tom ditched Marty's TiCats to cheer for the Riders😂
Martin Short was to do a bit during the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver but was unable due to his wife's illness. He's a treasure. My favourite character is Ed Grimley.
Tash ,it was a similar story with Rick Moranis, he and his wife had two kids and she died in the nineties, also of cancer. He basically phased himself out of show biz, to stay home and raise his kids. Sad times for two great comedians.

Talking about Martin Short and Steve Martin, they were in Montreal last november for a show, doing a tour together.

My favourite character Martin Short played was Ed Grimly from SCTV and Saturday night live. Greatest character and most fun to play as a Halloween dress up.😊

Hi Aussie Tash, I too am a huge Martin Short fan. One of my favourite things to watch is Martin's appearances with Steve Martin on the Tonight Show. Give yourself a treat and watch them , there are a few...FYI, he still has a cottage a couple of hours north from Toronto and he's taken some other stars up there (Jimmy Kimmer, Paul Shaffer)

Martin Short is a national treasure. He is extremely funny and a very good actor. Have you ever watched Ron James? If not, he is hilarious as well.
Captain Ron is in my top 5 movies.
They didn't really explain what was going on in Innerspace, Dennis Quaid's character is involved in a secret miniaturization project, he's in a pod and gets shrunk and then got injected into Martin Short's character by chance to avoid the technology falling into the wrong hands. So Short's character is hearing Quaid's character talking inside his head. I've been wanting to watch that one again, it's been a while since I've seen it. Also want to give a shoutout to a couple other Martin Short movies that they didn't mention. A Simple Wish was my first introduction as a child to Martin Short. And Pure Luck about a missing woman that is so accident prone and has such bad luck that only a person with the same problem (Martin Short) might be able to accidently find her.
Pure Luck was great with Danny Glover :)

Martin is a gem!!! You mentioned Nathan Lane as well. One of my favourite comedies was "The Birdcage". Have you seen it?
Sitting on the couch in inner space was great Canadians Joe Flagherty , Martin Short and Andrea Martin :) sctv was awesome .

@@sandram6828 You forgot about Neil Peart from Rush. He was born in the Hammer but raised in Port Dalhousie. I also include Pat McKenna (Harold on The Red Green Show)
@@robertpearson8798 - What about Red Green himself? I know Steve was born in Toronto but lived in Hamilton too didn't he? He couldn't help where he was born. That was beyond his control.

I love Captain Ron!! It is hilarious(plus you can’t go wrong with Kurt Russell!) I have yet to find it on dvd though.

Hi Aussie Tash. "Clifford" is my favourite movie comedy of all time. I watch it every couple of years. You are going to absolutely love Martin Short in this movie. Martin has talked with Bill Maher about Gilda Radner being his first love. Interesting to hear his wife Nancy was Gilda's understudy.
