Regular inspections of fall protection equipment are key to ensuring the safety of those using it. Fall arrest systems such as self-retracting lifelines and other similar devices are only intended to withstand one fall. Afterwards the device must be retired. The easiest way to see if one of these devices has experienced fall arrest forces is with the use of load indicators.
