personally i feel the failure of Samrat prithiviraj(my favourite King since childhood, as a child i was a huge fan of Dharti ka veer yoddha prithiviraj Chauhan serial on star plus)is due to wrong casting and weak screenplay..i wish Sanjay Leela Bhansali could have taken this subject ...he would have done total justice to it..

Akshay Kumar has started taking audience for granted just srk did a decades back and churned out pot boilers like Chennai express, happy new year, RaOne and many more. Eventually, even his better film started tanking at the box office. Akshay Kumar is following the same attitude, he's become more of a businessman than an artist

Agree with your views Komal ji, he just wants to complete his films in flat 40 days, come what may, such short span of time may not be able to do justice with films like Prithviraj Chauhan, being disciplined is Good, but over doing is bad for everyone. Akhsyay is a businessman and he follows the mood of the nation closely to comply with popular sentiments. He releases movies mere months after the issue is hot and fresh. But he has been dropping the ball in the last few movies. Everyone is tired of movies pushing manipulated history to further a set narrative, getting political figures to endorse movies, then expect people to watch it. Even supporters of this narrative want their hard earned money's worth with good acting. Kashmir files also forward a narrative with manipulated history, but was backed up by great acting and screenplay, so was a hit.

1. He dedicate less time to a film.... Sign 4-5 film at a time.
2. Weak story line.
3. Political image... (affiliate towards a fake nationalist party)
4. Over confident.
5. Nothing new in his film...

Historical films demands Great Directors and cinematographers rather than cast.
Greatness of historical movies has almost nothing to do with Expensive and popular cast.
Great Directors focus on how to apply history perfectly rather than showing of Cast.
Laxmii and Bachchan Pandey both were blockbusters in original Tamil version because of content and acting both. AK couldn't pull off the remake, there was nothing wrong about the content. Infact I would recommend and encourage people to watch Kanchana and Jigarthanda in hindi dubbed version, if not atleast with subtitles, you will definitely like it.

Padmavat , Bajirao Mastani was also a historical movies but these were well made. Some reasons from my viewpoint that why “Prithviraj” makes disaster in box office :
- the director was not capable nd experienced to handle such kind huge project.

- Akshay Kumar found very much average in this role, he needed to invest huge time to catch the spirit of Prithviraj in himself. He took this project from commercial viewpoint as he used to take the other projects.
- His over exposed in media and screen is create less buzz in audience perception. Audience is so tired to see him 12 months/365 days.
- word of mouth was so negative specially from the UA-cam critics. As we are the viewer from Bangladesh are used to follow the critics verdict at first and it’s a trend of last couple of years.
If we are so selective for even free pirated copy so it’s obvious why the audience of india will invest money after seeing the negative review?
Now only hope is Laal Sing Chadda to regain the respect that Bollywood has lost after covid period.
I am not worried about it. Bollywood will get back it. But most important thing is that the outside audience of hindi film has got the opt to explore south movie during this duel which is real plus point of south movie industry.
Despite all of this things, let me reply with loud and clear. We are Bangladeshi will always remain with Bollywood what ever the situation will come.

I guess even SRK suffered from this overexposure. He used to do so many ads...hosting award shows..ipl appearances and i guess this is why his movie like Fan, Zero, Harry Met Sejal did poor business while some of his contemporaries with same average content faired better than him. Just a theory...maybe it's something else

Fan and zero were content less that's why flopped , only VFX was insane . They deserve to get flopped .
