nice haul, I always tear things down for parts, or salvage things before the trash truck hits

I use to clean out the dumpster and bring everything home that work would throw away(I worked at Delta Air Lines) so I get where you are coming from. The deepwelll sockets are a nice clean up. Dollar tools are the way to go. I buy those even when I don't need or want them just because they are a dollar.

If only I had unlimited space haha! Can’t say no to quality $1 dollar tools. Have a good weekend good sir.

Having a set of matching brackets around is handy if you do any welding and fabricating. My local Good Will never has any hand tools. They have a lot of books, DVDs and CDs. Rothco was once a supplier to the US military. You can find a lot of their products at Army/Navy surplus stores. I believe they make a larger version of that canvas tool bag. I have the small one and it is pretty durable. I've had it for 20 years. The Snap-on sockets cleaned up nicely. Those are pre 1964 sockets as they don't have the first generation Flank Drive profile.

Those first set of greenish colored brackets would make killer custom screwdriver or other tool holders, a little paint and done. They also look pretty heavy duty for shelf brackets…just a thought 👊🏻

Lots of good stuff out there that doesn't cost an arm and leg( and may even be made in USA ), just have to know where to look and put a little digging time in.

A lot of great finds! I wish we had a habitat store close to us. And our Good will never has tools, just a lot of house wares. Those sockets came out nice! Shame about that 1in but hopefully you can get it replaced.

Thanks George. I’ve just had some dumb luck at the goodwills lately. Usually don’t find much of anything.

Those goodwill and restore buys were great, I absolutely would have done that. I’ve never had any luck at either but now I feel like I need to try again.
I use Evaporust a lot but I never knew that it worked better if it was warm. I’m going to have to try that.
I picked up an ultrasonic cleaner on Black Friday and it’s great. I’ve put a bunch of sockets through it in a mixture of simple green and water. They come out as clean as new.
I have heard that some people will put Evaporust in the ultrasonic but now that I know the heat trick that makes a lot more sense.
I’m actually looking for a bigger ultrasonic now that I can use for wrenches and bigger things.

Funny thing is I learned about evaporust working better when warm from a UA-cam video. UA-cam is the best place for learning. I got a used ultrasonic cleaner that is not working properly I’ve been meaning to buy a nice one. Thanks for watching!

Heavy brackets and basic angles and corners....I hang them on pegboard. Along with eye hooks etc. etc.
With a picture to friends, they can let me know they need something off the pegboard. It is amazing how much money we save
( I think I filmed some of my pegboard in my shed video ).

I never find anything good at goodwill.
The sockets turned out good. They look pretty old

That’s usually my opinion to. Nothing there and when I find something it’s so overpriced. However I have had a few recent finds.
