When we first met him I remember thinking "Hey he's cool, hope we see more of him".
Now we know his backstory, his friends and foes. We've seen him fail and triumph, have been following his progress pretty much since we met him (rookie, to warlord, to the alliance, to defeating a yonko).
He has ties to Sengoku, and he's a D.
He feels like a second main character at this point.

Giving credit where it's due; Oda did a good job at showing off what Law is capable of without taking away from the threat Blackbeard presents. BB doesn't feel like a jobber even after that fight because of how smart, resourceful, and strong Law has demonstrated he is

The same people praising Law for this are the same ones who try to downplay what Zoro did when scarring Kaido, the most durable character in the series so far, and making him spill blood despite Zoro being weakened with broken bones and before he even awakened his ACOC. And that Zoro isn't even close in strength to current Zoro. But Law hurting one of the easiest people to hurt is a bigger feat?

Law just using what he learned against big mom and that level up in that fight. He using awakening to get big damage in and the sound cancel to negate his quakes very impressive. The hax man with the bag, if he gets a complete awakening with no stamina issues. He'll be a heavy hitter

Law might end up being the strongest non Conquerors Haki combatant, or at least up there with them
It's like the rule of Shounen that after every fight you basically gain XP and level up thus becoming stronger, so I don't understand why some people are shocked that Law can hang. All the top tiers should be relatively challenging to take out and that includes Law.

Keep in mind Blackbeard isn’t using awakening in this fight for either Devil Fruit. That’s why Ope Ope+Awakening is handling the Gura Gura powers that may or may not have Conqeurors Haki

Blackbeard is a careless tank, y'all shouldn't be surprised he got first blood, Blackbeard has always been first blood in all of his on screen fights. Be afraid that BB has double the pain and still stood like nothing. Law is nonetheless over powered AF tho and I love it because it destroys a lot of agendas.

King, stop it. Let's not pretend law is going toe to toe in a drawn out fight with BB. Every BB fight goes the same: he gets rocked and hurt, then he comes back like it was nothing. He even got rocked by pre-haki Luffy in impel down. There's a reason oda shifted away as soon as Vortex came out. Law got his last bit of hype, he got all his best attacks out of the way, now he's getting folded offscreen. It is what it is.

I love Law, thank you for putting some respect on his mf name!!! To me, he acts as the SH unofficial tactician- the moves SH been making are all a part of Law's plan. His devil fruit powers have incredibly potential, and I know he is going to amaze by the end of the series. I love that the One Piece story is not just the SH crew, it's also the world of OP: pirate allies, revolutionaries, sword. People can lie to themselves, but Law is HIM! May Oda bless the Heart Pirates and give us even more back story to the 'Trafalgar D. Water' lineage.

When Luffy fights his next yonko I doubt he will start with gear 5 straight away either. What I am trying to compare is that Law is automatically on 10/10 whereas BB is probably keeping himself around 7/10.

I got a theory but I'm not sure any else came to this conclusion yet. I think we've seen "Winner Island" before not in the main story but in the Ace light novel drawn by Boichi in chapter 4 of the novel Whitebeard and Ace are on a random Island where they have a duel and their fight was decided in a tie quote "And so the victor was decided, but not one person truly lost on that day." and we get to see an establishing shot of the island after the battle. Now cut to chapters 1063 and 1064 respectively I take a look at the Blackbeard V Law fight and I notice the cliffside high shores, and the forests surrounding dividing the beach from the mountain range they look similar if you take a long detailed look.
Arguably, you could swap Law's sword for a giant scalpel. Have we ever seen him clash swords with someone or just cut with his fruit?

Most of Law’s Doflamingo fight was him using his sword normally, and it goes into how he was trained in formal swordsmanship, marksmanship, martial arts etc. He’s not a pure swordsman, but he’s not just a ‘sword user’ either. He’s a swordsman for sure and specializes in swordsmanship

Sanji > Kaido

Kidd > Big Mom

I forgot kidd took damage from Hawkins-killer situation and w/ kidd being a more close range fighter he was taking the bulk of the damage probably why law looked better than kidd against bm but that situation evens it out powerscaling wise. Luffy had the help of 10+ ppl(Yamato,Scabbards, Kidd, Law, Killer, ZORO) in defeating Kaido no matter how u put it u can’t say that Kaido was 100% when fighting Luffy🤝🏾

My problem with Law is his devil fruit… all of the current legends are running around punching each other with haki punches that can break islands… and here comes Law with nothing but random devil fruit abilities that are somehow connected to “surgery” :/

Zoro clashed and scarred (which only oden ever did) a STRONGER and more DURABLE yonko, Kaido, with 30 BROKEN BONES. I dont understand how everyone forgets how zoro and kaido clashed with zoro doing better than law pre-ACOC. Law was even present during the said clash, imagine now zoro post king fight and see how much law has grown. how much has zoro also grown from the clash with kaido and king with 30 broken bones. 🙃
People (especially kol and his fans) hate living in reality. Zoro was able to scar kaido before he even fully unlocked conq coating. Current zoro would easily be able to put up a better fight against a yonko lvl opponent than yamato now. I don’t even think law would last 5 minutes in a 1v1. People always act like his kroom doesn’t have a maaaaaajor weakness in the time it takes to charge. Laws best feats come from team fights for that reason. He needs someone to protect him/distract his opponent while he charges kroom.
There's a reason why Zoro only beat a commander and Law(with Kidd as support) beat a Yonko. That's still the difference between the 2 of them.
Who would I trust more, the freakin author or a fanboy? 😌 Unless the author states/shows that Zoro is already at that level would I only believe that he really is stronger than Law.

He needs someone to buy him time to be able to fight.

And I find it funny that u law d riders wanna talk abt proper 1v1s when laws greatest feats come from team battles. He 2v1 a yonko and couldn’t even ko her and now he’s using his crew to protect him so he can have enough time to charge his awakening. Current law barely scales above doffy in a 1v1.
