    In-Jin Chi did not stand a chance, between the Ref the announcers and the proud Mexican crowd... Erik Morales had to run, complain and kept ducking his head until the dude pushed down on Eriks head and got a point taken away. In my eyes Erik did all these things and still got lucky to avoid getting really embarassed.

    Erik Morales has to be one of the best ever, yet most never actually bring him up online. He never got his respect for always going in the brawl and Win. Unlike most, he’s a real old school boxer.

      I always say this: that a past prime Erik Morales is still better than a prime Pacquiao. In fact, Morales was already 1 fight away from being a washed up fighter when he beat a prime Pacquiao the first time they met.
      The problem with Erik Morales is he was too burned out from fighting too many elites in too many wars in short amount of time. He was also always weight drained due to him boiling himself too long to make the 122 and 126 lbs limit so despite moving up to 130, he's still having some troubles making the Super Featherweight limit. Added the fact that he has ab aggressive fighting style which relies more on heart than smarts. Morales has a very underrated skills. The problem is he was so in love with fighting that he's willing to throw away his skills for the sake of an entertaining fight. Sometimes he would even deliberately put himself into the jaws of the lion to make the fight entertaining. Doing that he didn't gain anything but more wear and tear.
      His schedule at Super Featherweight also did not help him. It was so damn hard at 130 pounds (he unified titles vs. Jesus Chavez and Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez, and engaged in his classic rubber match with Marco Antonio Barrera - all hard 12-round bouts - in 2004) that his body had begun to break down even before his first bout with Pacquiao.
      But this is partly Erik's mistake. Part of it, are his handler's fault. He has a bad management. They didn't protected and took care of Morales. Instead they exploited him. They know Morales has a hard schedule back in 2003-2005. 5 straight tough battles from Chavez to Raheem. But instead of giving Morales some time to recuperate and give him a couple of easy bouts, they pushed the Pacquiao rematch and worst, instead of forcing Pacquiao to move up to 135, they let Team Pacquiao to dictate the terms, especially about the gloves and weight demands. (Not Pacquiao's fault, of course).
      If Morales were just living a disciplined life and have a more disciplined fighting style and he did not have a stupid management, I'm sure he will beat Pacquiao again and he could have won titles in 3 divisions more...making him a 6 divisions world champion. And if you think it's ridiculous then look at his record. Morales beat Pacquiao, controversially lose to David Diaz in his quest for the WBC World Lightweight Title, won a Super Lightweight Title and a WBC Silver Welterweight Title, all this even when he was already past his prime.

      Was a great fight. The first time (don’t know if it’s the only time anymore) where Pac-Man was beat on American soil. The last round where he switched his stance deliberately just to prove to himself he was better. And I love Pacquiao, but I hate how they diminish Erik by solely bringing up the next two fights… as if they invalidate the first.
      Either way, Erik is my favorite boxer ever and only came alive when he was really getting hit. So many wars he fought throughout his career. Even at the end, he beat Maidana imo.

    • @Bankai_Musashi1
      @Bankai_Musashi1 3 місяці тому

      @@1Deep43VAhe literally lost the last round so I don't understand why you say to prove he was better unless u mean the fight in general. Yeah great fight but some make it out to seem Morales gave Manny a boxing lesson when all judges scored it 7-5, lol. Morales is my 2nd favorite though

    • @1Deep43VA
      @1Deep43VA 3 місяці тому

      @@Bankai_Musashi1 Because, he switched to a stance that gave Pac-Man the advantage and couldn’t easily lead to him getting KO’d but he did because he believed he was better. And I don’t care if he “lost the round”, he won the fight and he knew he was the fight and that’s why he did it. It was the cherry on top.
      And judges literally mean nothing, so I don’t know why you brought them up. If you’re a Morales fan then you know how useless they are. Just look at the Barrera/Morales fights.
      You come across as someone who just wanted to complain to me.
