- North Korea criticised a joint military exercise launched by the United States, South Korea, and Japan. According to North Korea's KCNA news agency, Pyongyang said such drills show the relationship among the three countries has developed into "the Asian version of NATO." The large-scale joint military drills came days after Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Pyongyang to meet the supreme leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, on June 18-19. Putin and Kim also signed a 'NATO-like' pact, vowing to defend each other in case of an attack by external forces. Watch

@@Don-zd6ni Have you ever lived next to someone who murdered your ancestors? This is our lot here in eastern europe, also the lot of many other people who border Russia. We spend money on military to prevent Russia attacking us again. I agree this money could be spent elsewhere, and I'd very much like for Russia to not be a threat to its neighbours. South Korea is in a very similar situation with North Korea.
Here's a question. Why dont you appeal to North Korea, Russia, and so on? Don't you think that if North Korea normalized its relations with south, your goal of saving funds would be achieved?
