awesome, picked all the stuff up this morning & I'm going to try this tomorrow. I love plantains every way I've ever had them & I just know this will be a great addition to the repertoire, thank you!
@@athomewithshay they were even better than I thought they'd be, I stuffed them with vegan 'scrambled eggs & bacon' along with onions and mushrooms. So much better than flour tortillas, this is going directly into the regular rotation :)
I haven't! But let me know if you do & how it works out. Baking them in this way takes a lot of the moisture out while leaving them pliable with a bread-like texture. I am curious if dehydrating would make them chewy like a fruit roll up? Keep me posted!
Dr TeeBird absolutely you can use any type of oil you’d like. Keep in mind that if you use an oil that has a specific flavor (like sesame)... it will change the flavor of the wrap... and that can be an awesome thing for what you are wrapping inside! Let me know what you come up with:-)
So sorry to hear that! Did you use parchment paper, spray it with oil & use oil in the purée? That should ensure that it doesn’t stick. Check to be sure that you are using parchment paper & not another type. It should be made to be non-stick.
Hi sparkle! These are plantains, the starchier, more savory cousin to the banana. They can be used in lots of fun & delicious ways that bananas can’t. This is one example:-)
