Great video, super interesting. If I win the backpack the first trip would be backpacking in the countryside this summer with my wife and daughter. Cheers!
I totally agree, I am blessed enough to have purchased extra "buddy" gear for my friends to use so no one is ever feeling left out. When we just want to jump on the road for a day trip.
@@NinaDefilla I thru-hiked a short trail near me in Connecticut in early April, and it was great as we had a snowy winter and while the snow was gone by the time we started, nighttime temps were still in the low 40's-high 30's and the ground was still cold. Agree it's overkill now. I have the uninsulated Tensor for late Spring-mid fall trips. my 3rd summer with it, very pleased!
I am moving to Colorado in August and am excited to explore the mountains in my new home, so that would be my pick for my first place to head out with a new backpacking backpack!
Thanks for the awesome video! I am new to backpacking (also from Vancouver, BC!!) and it was so helpful to see what gear you take with you. I’m amazed that you can fit all your gear into your 52L pack! Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
I'd take that pack with me everywhere. not just hiking and camping but traveling too now that things are opening up again. Awesome video! Thanks for sharing! cheers!
I'm hoping to move from Toronto to BC sometime this summer so I'd also love to take the Fjällräven pack on hikes through the Rockies! Don't know too many spots in BC yet but I know I will definitely be going back to Banff/ Jasper where my love for the outdoors really took shape! It would be a dream come true to be outdoors with quality gear like this! Cheers Nina, congrats on your youtube journey!
Another great video! More I watch your videos the more I want to buy the raven backpack!! Might have to see if I can find in stores to try on as its quite an investment
Thanks for all the helpful info! I’m hoping to explore more of the BC backcountry this summer. Thinking of doing a trip on the Sunshine Coast! Could really use a pack upgrade! 💙
This was such a great video! I bought some gear from this video and I’m impressed of how light everything is! I got the tent, water filter, jet boil and matches. You also gave me great information for helping me choose a sleeping bag and mat.
i am new to backpacking but have done a lot of hikes into lakes as i am a fly fishman so wanted some way of staying at the lakes for longer but i got all my backpacking stuff then i damaged my back been off work for 4 months now going craycray lol but i am waiting for surgery soon i hope great chanel will be watching much more keep up the good work
Hello from Vancouver. Raised with immigrant parents that didn't understand the outdoor culture here, hiked for the last 8 years and ready to start exploring back country. I hope to hike mount assiniboine next summer, but practicing locally first (mount webb in August) Edit to add: this is probably the best gear video I've watched because I know these products are actually accessible in Canada. Ive noticed a lot of US companies aren't shipping across the border right now, which has really delayed my decision making. Also, really awesome to hear from someone that experiences the same climate changes. I swear my hike on Saturday had all 4 seasons 😅
Hi Gloria! I’m so glad that you found this video helpful. It’s been tough to find gear in general lately. Lots of stuff seems to be sold out. Super exciting that your goal is Mount Assiniboine next summer! That is a long one, but SO worth it 😍 Thanks for tuning in 🥰
Thxs Nina! ... excellent video! Useful for this new backpaking season! ... Will hope to win this bag to take with me on my next trip on November to Patagonia through Argentina and Chile! 😉🙌
First place I would take this backpack would actually hopefully go back to Vancouver Canada and hike some beautiful beautiful places. I fell in love with that city and I wanna go back. Loving the videos!
I've been followed you since locked down, this video make me want to go do some backcountry hike and explore more and one day I'll visit BC. Thanks for the informative gears, it's helpful for newbie like me. 👍
Love your videos! The scenery pics are just amazing! I am planning a hiking trip to western Canada...all your pics was part of the inspiration for me planning the trip!
So excited to get back into backpacking after a 13 year hiatus! I’m planning a trip up Garibaldi and upgrading my gear is so necessary as all of it is so heavy!
You are so cute! I have the same Marmot Ouray bag and have literally NEVER been cold ever... Sometimes too hot 🤣 so I'm gonna look into that beautiful Mammut bag! I love Fjallraven, I would take it on the Wonderland trail around Mt Rainier🤍
Could you do a video on how you pack your pack? Do you leave your sleeping bag in stuff sack pr just stuff it into the bottom of pack? Do you also leave your tent in sack or stuff that in pack also? If I win this pack I would take it to Adirondacks, NY Oh I just saw the end , perfect your next video will be how to pack a pack! You are wonderful!! ❤️
That’s going to be my next video! I’ll show you how I do it. I leave my sleeping bag in the compression sack to save space. I also split my tent up into sections and give half to whoever else I’m backpacking with. Thanks for tuning in! Good luck 🥰
Keb 52 litre trekking bag will be extremely helpful for me as I’m a new resident in Canada and I’ve started to explore this beautiful county. Having said that, I’d definitely take this wonderful backpack for my first hike at Banff this summer. Oh! And I love your video much! :)
Awesome video! Thank you for all the details and can’t wait to see more videos from you I would love to take this to anywhere where I can see the garibaldi lake ⛰ Love the ending by the way 🐶 🐱
Thank you so much, Nina! ❤ For a hiking/backpacking rookie, this video, and you are a GEM! Garibaldi Lake has been sitting first on my camping list for a while, so that's where I will be heading with this red beauty 😁
Love the nod to the sharing economy at the beginning of the video Nina! I could use a backpack like this for Berg Lake in a few weeks because currently I'm backpacking with my tiny 35L Fjallraven 😆
Jasper National Park is on the bucket list as #1 for Canada. My best friend moved out there when we were in our early 20s but I was never able to visit because i had a young son & could never afford it. I hope one day to take the journey there with her 🥰 (she is in Australia now so a bit of a trek for her lol).
Found your instagram last year and loved all the content and now i'm here! Looking forward to seeing your channel grow and excited for all the educational videos as I am beginning my journey on overnight backpacking, the last few years i've just done day hikes! I'm always hiking the opposite side of the rockies from Calgary and would love to take this on a few days trip to berg lake it looks so beautiful!
Awesome video Nina! I have so many places on my list to backpack to this year, but I think I’m most excited for my road trip to the beautiful Bugaboos 💙 the mountains there are something else!
This was great! As soon as I can get off this Island (PEI) I plan on doing some sort of back country camping adventure in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia!
First spot would be Glacier National Park! I have an 8 day trip planned with a bunch of friends, filled with hiking and fishing. This bag will definitely help In the trip and replace my starting to rip one hahaha
Great content! I liked the insight. Getting into backpacking can be quite the barrier but this info def helps. I want to do a two-three day trip and climb mount Shasta and that pack would be great for it!
Nina! Amazing video so informative. I'd take this all over BC but have a 3-night trip to Lillooet area in August this would be great for :D excited to see more of your content
I have been hiking for about 10 years now myself and really started to get into thru-hikes, so the OCT (Oregon Coast Trail) is my next planned hike when I receive my second shot and I would love to use the Fjallraven backpack for that thru-hike. I love your channel
Such a great video! Thanks for all the excellent tips. I’d love a pack to get me on the Eagle Cap Wilderness Loop this September. Quick question, does the 55 have the detachable fanny pack?
Love the video! If I received the pack, I would take it on an August backpacking trip to the Northern Cascades in Washington state. I love the brand & would be so excited to use it. Thanks for all your content!
Thanks for the tips! I'll use them to create a checklist for my next adventurer! Do you have an idea of how much does everything weight (let's say for a 2 days backpacking)?
So glad you found this video useful! As for the weight, I’m not too sure. It depends on your gear and what food you’re bringing. Plus if you have to pack all of your water with you. I’ve had packs that weight anywhere between 40-60lbs 😳 working on getting that weight down with every trip though
What an informative and useful gear guide just in time for backpacking season!!
Yes, thank you Aishah 😍
I know this is an older video but just wanted to let you know it’s still helping people and I really appreciated it!
Thank you! I’m so happy it’s helping ☺️
