    Mwalimu Nyerere was way ahead of his time...the greatest son of East Africa......massive respects from 🇰🇪...May you rest in peace...the only East African leader who embraced the ethos of servitude leadership and was never carried away by materialism...thank you BABA wa Africa

    Sometimes you can be led into believing that leaders are born. You cannot just train one to become Nyerere. It takes something uniquely special in addition to training.

      @@georgewalker1860 So true, so much depends on his individual character. But what then about his education by the White Fathers, or the fact that his father, Nyerere Burito, is reported to have been "installed as Chief" by the then German Imperial Administration, OR, subsequently, his attendance at the Native Administration School in Mwisenge, which the British administration saw as a tool for sustaining a "comprador class"? He also studied at the Makerere College in Kampala, where he was much affected by Catholic teaching, and then at the University of Edinburg? So, to come back to the question of where he got his leadership, how, with such a background, did he not end up like Milton Obote, or many of the other intellectual lights of the decolonization period?

      @@thomasbergbusch3641 I agree with your sentiments! I would say that, at that time it how too hard for us to make decisions! Great leaders allowed their children to get the same edu that enslaved them to unslave some citizens. On that note, Nyerer set up Ubuntu/True socialism that was based on developing of the people's mental capacity and physical being. Tanzanians are impeccably structured society thanks to him

    Such an amazing man. It is because of men like him that this world was able to overcome their ignorance bred out of fear and began accepting others from other places in the world.
    It is also very unfortunate that this is not in any curriculum. Schools must have videos such as this as a mandatory class.

    • @georgeodhiambo598
      @georgeodhiambo598 2 роки тому

      There were very many sharp Africans in the pre-independence Africa. I think the challenge of the huge struggles that were placed on their lap by events from within and without compelled them to become sharp. Post independence Africans tend to be uniformly stupid! I can't understand why they can't rise to the occasion and address emerging issues. We just don't stretch ourselves anymore. 20-30 year old Africans were quite able to hold their ground with competence on any world platform. Today's 20-30 year old can't even engage in an average village debate!

      Sounds so simple but this analogy, surprisingly, is deliberately ignored by the colonisers. You took my land by force. Actually naturally I should not negotiate with you but kick you out without respect. But the African is so humane that he is willing to listen to you talk about his land and how you're going to get out with conditions. Still you undervalue that humanness and take advantage.
