Cody summarized his attitude toward life when he said, "I don't want to do anything; I just want to complain..."
The scene with the rice crispies reminded me of the rock building therapy Kody had with Christine. Christine wanted the amount of stones to represent the number of values their relationship required and Kody jumped to the rocks being the quantity of members of the family. Likewise in the last episode, Kody immediately jumped to there being 18 treats for the amount of children he has instead of the 30 years he has with Meri. When Kody talks about the family he only means himself. He keeps exposing how narcisstic he has been throughout these seasons. Love your recaps! ❤️

He is such a bad father, I feel so bad for the kids. He says he is all about the kids, but his actions do not show that.
You've so nailed. Cody shuts down Meri at every opportunity but then says she should woo him? What exactly does he expect her to do? He obviously only wants Robin at this point. I also can't stand him now saying he doesn't think polygamy is fair to women; it's not, but that's not why he's saying it.
What exactly does Kody mean that Meri has to woo him? Does Kody ask himself(?) ----If Meri can really woo me, I might just once for old time sake --- give her some husband attention!!
I was so angry watching this episode. Cody is a narcissist. Be lovable?? Court me? What a dick! What about for better or for worse? Marriage isn't only about the happy days, it is loving someone when their not lovable. My heart broke for Meri this episode.
It was so hard watching this
Meri feels like she betrayed the family motto or something. She is willing to lay down in front of the bus because of the cat fishing thing. She is flogging herself for her sins. The other wives helped create this Cody monster years ago and I don’t think they really care if she’s on the outs. I’m sure they all said “how could she” and fed Codi’s outrage. I’m just sad that Meri feels like she has to stay.
Meri can leave anytime she wants to but she loves the t v .yuck helping to make the bed now he will go to another one. Jerk an understatement. Is this show scripted because I can't believe a man who has cheated on everyone he lives with wants the women to woo him. It's beyond belief

Kody's hypocrisy about Meri is off the charts at this point. Also, Kody saying he is stuck having to choose between his wife's birthday and his son's graduation is INSANE. It's not even a choice. I agree about the editing for sure. Kody says he can't send Meri away because of his faith, but he's clearly forgotten one of the major tenets which is forgiveness. He wants to still be mad and bitter at her. Either forgive her and move forward, or just divorce her, but what he's doing isn't fair or representative of his faith.

Omg this episode was so hard to watch.. so sad. Kody is done with Meri.. with Janelle he takes her or leaves her.. with Christine he’s there with her to placate her nothing much going on there emotionally from his end.
Exactly. But just look at last(?) episode when Janelle actually made a grown up decision to not have Kody over to not put the rest of the family at risk how Kody then had a man child tantrum and later threw his Jenelle kids under the bus on Twitter. Janelle litterally can't ask anything of him if she is to be his wife.
@@coffeesarcasm9318 I loved that Janelle made her own decision to NOT have Kody visit her home --- she said it firmly & there was no room for Kody to undecide her very imp decision to NOT have Kody visit her or the kids. Wish Gabe was not so nonchalant about being exposed to potential Covid19 by hanging with a girlfriend & others. This was a year ago --- Gabe could have exposed his Mother to Covid19. Seeing Janelle last episode working in her garden -- I wish her to have a man who loves only her & that she escapes this polygamist nightmare. Kody is not worth the trouble & he is not affectionate with most of his kids not to speak of the wives ---- except Robyn & their kids. It is sickening. (It refers to Kody)
He makes a whole big scene about how the kids can't hug him over at robins when he comes home from Christine's because he hasn't taken a shower but when he went over to janelles he didn't take any kind of shower or change clothes
Used to wonder --- does Kody shower & change clothes before visiting his wives --- in the good old days he actually seemed to adhere to a wife schedule of time. He has NO scheduled time for visiting the wives (pre-Covid) now. In polygamy in the past, the husband had a responsibility to BE with each wife & all his kids. This is just a religion a MAN-made-up --- more wives & younger wives to add on as the husband gets older & just OLD. No woman came up with that idea. The thought that Kody would call you to his heaven --- NO!

He only ever saw the kids once every 4 days or so. The 3 unmarried women have bought their own kids up.
This episode really showed how miserable they all are. Some of their conversations were so mean, Cody does not care about Meri at all. Sad 😞

He was very rude to her. He wants Meri to leave so he can blame her for leaving the family. He knows if he ends the relationship he will be the bad guy.
I am from the mainstream LDS faith, so I can understand the importance of marriage to achieve celestial glory. I do not and will NEVER understand or justify absolute spousal neglect or marital misery while on this earth to achieve post death joy. I was screaming at the TV when Gabe and Garrison were talking about how their family was falling apart. I was shocked that they said that. I was also surprised that they had that much self/familial awareness to know that that is the case.

She (Meri) had made it clear on Instagram many times that she still loved him, even recently. But, it's been clear he has not ever cared. I just don't get why she was still hanging on when she had her own businesses. *Edit to say looks like she has taken photos of him down now*
I was thinking the same! Why stay? Why would she say I won't quit, I won't leave, when he clearly says that anyone can leave! I bet if she was to stop trying and leave, just ignore him, he would probably would go after her. Or not, and then she would really come out winning by getting out of their awful situation.

Meri clearly would benefit from leaving the Brown marriage(s) behind. If Meri is staying for the TV exposure & TLC money -- that makes some sense. But, why is Meri wanting to still be the victim - villain of the Brown Family? Why create such a toxic life with a man who is too much of a coward to take Meri aside (not on camera) that it would be best for everyone including Meri if she were to leave. Kody is sly in that he likes Meri's earning powers but does not want even a friendship let alone a husband role in Meri's life. Is Meri suppose to give up any kind romantic life --- she is 50 years old --- that would be a long time with no man (Kody) who cares & loves her. I have been mainlining a loathing for Kody over many seasons. He is a bullying narcissist. It’s always all about him. Wives & Kids toe his line or face his wrath. Interviewing the kids might give us some genuine truth.

Would like more about the Brown offspring & how they feel about Kody & polygamy; but it is really the KODY Show (with his wives ---not Meri of course)--- -- Why would TLC have a season that is a year past the Covid19 HELL the country has & continues to endure. They filmed with their own cameras --- right? Better to have updates & info of how the Browns have coped in the past 12 months from Spring 2020. We all know about Covid19 & now there are vaccines. The show is too repetitive/boring. Kody has become a complete bully & attacks his wives & some of the kids.
O boy this episode was cringy. When Kody asked " would all my wives be happier if they were married to someone else?" Im like um yea probably. Kody is like I dont want you but you cant leave either. Hes suck a gubber. I cant believe that Robyn is thinking of having another baby.
Robyn cries too much. Maybe she has continuing post-partum depression or depression. She has had 5 kids ranging in age from the son in college to much younger. Sure go ahead & disregard your health & pop out another kid for Kody. He likes when the girls get married than he can walk the daughter down the aisle & pretend he is the most handsome dad ever.

I think she is only considering another baby to make sure she stays the favorite. That way, she doesn’t have to work and still gets a million dollar home while the other wives (except Meri) live modestly.

I love your reviews! The sad truth is that it's impossible for any family with a narcissist to live happily ever after. The narcissist thrives on drama and is usually terrible with finances. They'll drive the family into chaos and misery. I've seen it many times, including my own bio family. I escaped and live a very peaceful life.
I’m sorry. Whenever he talks about the cat fishing stuff. I think of when he was pressuring her to take extra steps to have a baby then he decided that he didn’t want to. Please spare us all.Meri was going to have an affair with whoever she was talking on line to man or woman because she was lonely.How dare everyone hold it against her.What the he'll does Kody do everyday. I feel bad for the kids. They didn't ask for any of this. Kody is more revolting each episode and that's hard to believe as he's been revolting since the first episode! I'm sure once the show is finished Meri and Christine will be done with him. Kody and Robyn deserve each other.
10 years ago, when this show started --- Kody seemed to have a sense of humor --- now it is attack & he attacks back -- he is the head of the Brown Family but he has never been much of a spiritual leader -- do they attend any church? Where are the polygamy, religious beliefs in the Brown family?

Kody saying Robyn's kids can't have a dog because he doesn't like them is ridiculous because Robyn is the one who says she doesn't like animals. Odd how he suddenly feels that way too.

It was their anniversary, she brings 30 of his favorite treat. Gee Kody, could you buy a card? Even a jovial one? "I want you to flirt with me, don't touch me". He wants Meri's financial contribution to the "family" but she's not part of it. I'm glad I love nowhere near him. He makes you want to smack the television. Meri's current effort 100%, Kody 0. It's so sad to see her being his whipping post. When he has a problem though notice he goes to her first. He's playing her and using her.

Even just a nice bunch of flowers --- how difficult would that be??? If Kody is that disaffected --- do not even bother with the ( fake) anniversary lunch in some random field. Surely, Flagstaff must have some nice park to eat lunch.

Kody is a coward and Mari is blind to her "Truth"....Mari he's telling you it's over! His son's see him for what he is and that's not a father. Kody just shows up getting his ego stroked by these women.
It’s so clear that since Christine vetoed the big house, he has been having one long tantrum.
Basically by rejecting living together he feels validated in blaming the failure of the family as an excuse to separate (and conveniently he gets to live monogamy with Robin).

Meri kept quiet about the one house idea --- during Kody's presentation --Meri sat silent -- do not believe Meri would want to live in one house with the other wives --- She would be on board if Kody up & left his favorite wife & moved into her house --- Robyn is the real Kody wife --he has made his choice & only Janelle seems to still have a loyalty for Kody. It would be a more honest show if Kody decided he would only be with Robyn & the other three wives are "divorced" from Kody & Meri, Janelle & Christine seek a fresh start w/o being a plural wife to Kody. The Browns could still gather with their kids for family get togethers. That could work out for everyone. Do not believe Kody will ever build houses on Coyote Pass. He bought Robyn the house with all the bedrooms --- Robyn would not want to leave that gorgeous house. Sell Coyote Pass & divide the money to the wives ---

The one episode or interview, Christine said she likes the freedom of not having a husband around all the time. Shouldn't she just marry an over the road trucker. At least he would have a job. What does Cody do for a living besides the show?
IMO there are wives who like some ME time --- it is exhausting being a wife -- cooking, cleaning, birthing (kids are a blessing - absolutely), yard work, making holidays fun etc. Want to eat chocolates & watch mind-less TV & relax without a what's for dinner tonight. LOL
He's really showing his a$$ this season. The only people he DOESN'T seem irritated by are Robyn's household. I honestly would love a show with only Christine, Meri, and Jenelle along with their kids.
When Mari mentioned a kiss ,kody 100% rejected the idea. He's over her . Mari needs help exiting the relationship. She needs professional help. I think Mari was probably dismissive of the children years ago because of pain. She couldn't have but one child in a religion that expects a large number of children. What happens to woman in these marriages that can't have children? She probably didn't hate the children but was reminded of only having one daughter after years of trying. Kody looks at her as baggage.
Oh just wait until you see the last two episodes which you’ve probably already seen. I never comment on anything ever. But those two episodes,,,,,,,,omg. What he did and said to ysabel and what he said to all of them at the picnic tables,,,,,,,,then Christine saying “I don’t think I can be married to Kody anymore” while Robyn sits there with this snooty look on her face. Yeah,,,,,been watching this show since day one. And I’ve never seen more clearly why this family has all the issues they have. Kody needs to step back and do some soul searching. Get some time away from the little birdie in his ear,,,,and see how he’s hurting his family by acting like he’s monogamous with one brunette. I used to think Robyn was not the issue. I see very different things recently.

They are working the Covid-19 angle big time. The whole anniversary deal was such a sham. Meri likes to play blind man but the truth is, they no longer have any marriage spiritual or otherwise. Second, Kody the psychopath’s manipulative side shines through. It’s completely obvious by what he says both to Meri and us in private interviews. Meri looks more ridiculous with each passing show as she hangs on by a thin thread to a sliver of hope.

I also thought i was used to Kody but ugh, this episode was so awful. It's so bizarre that Kody basically tells Meri to grovel for his affection, so he can reject it?? What is that? And how am I so confused by this double digit iq manchild? If he were a fictional character I'd struggle to find him realistic. Yet here he is. And your saying they watch the show as a family made me think how, whenever he treats Meri with such casual cruelty, or throws thinly veiled shade at Christine, or trash talks his sons, he's literally choosing for the whole family to watch that. That's so weird! He references hook up culture, about a 30 yr marriage, beyond weird! And something about "maybe i don't want to address a wife's emotional needs" 🤯🤯🤯, but you chose to have that expectation of you, 4 times! Really should've stopped at 0.

Kody is not capable of addressing the emotional needs of (4) wives at the same time. He probably meets Robyn's emotional needs because she demands it ---
First, I can’t stand Kody. Second, I wouldn’t be surprised if he made Janelle create her story arc so he wouldn’t have to spend time with her or their kids. Third, I think Christine has been over Kody for awhile. She sees what happened with Meri, and saw she was next. She has decided not to be Kody’s next victim. I think Meri sticks around to collect money to support the b&b. She wants to have something to pass on to Moriah, even if she sells it. Fourth, Robyn is getting what she deserves...Kody. The scowl that always is plastered on her face, calls to mind some of the faces you can see on The Twilight Zone. She’ll leave him in the end. It’s a strange American Tragedy.

And I bet he would try to make up with Meri so he could get back on TV because he's such an attention hog!!! Bravo doesn't even have to write stuff so Kody looks like an ass, he does that so well on his own!! BTW, where did John get his shirt? I want one!!
Isn't Janelle the money manager in the family? That's why Kody keeps her around. Someone has to give the allowance to keep Kody in the style he is accustom to. After all he is a child man .
I feel like Kody was talking mostly about Christine and how mad he is at her for not wanting to all live in one house during the anniversary picnic with Meri. I don't like how Kody refuses to talk about the relationship problems with the wife he actually has a problem with in order to try to fix it, and instead, does not talk at all to that person and just talks to all the other wives about it.
This causes two things to happen: a.) All the other wives realize that he is talking about them to the other wives when they are not around and try to stay on his good side by agreeing with him on everything. I've had bosses who did this type of thing. b.) the issue does not get resolved, and this is why he can have a "bad spell" with one wife for 5 to 10 YEARS. This isn't fair to the women at all. No one deserves to be in a relationship where one person holds all the power and is getting their physical and emotional needs met elsewhere.
Polygamy rules for any wife --- Stay Sweet --- to protect a wife's privacy -- do not give your husband anything to talk about to the other wives.
Nikki, I agree, this was a horrible episode. When Meri asked if her trying to be affectionate with him would grosss him out, his decision to reply more or less that 'well I am not saying it would be gross...' just was a kick in the kidney. How dare he? No matter what she has done, how can he hurt her that low? I know why. He still.probably can't get over Meri telling the catfish that 'he'('Sam') was way better looking etc than Kody. That must have hurt Kody pretty bad and just won't let it go. To ask of her to be more "loveable" sounded to me in line with the whole polygamist "be sweet" rule for women. Disgusting.
4 out of 4 of Kody's wives are white women. It's 2021, so I'm just waiting for Kody to take a new wife with some more melanin, and maybe a LGBTQ one as well, so he can avoid cancel culture. Lol! I'm sure not getting canceled is more important to him than anything else.

I personally think the older Kodys kids get the more they are going to speak out against him and the more they do that, he’s going to go against them on social media. He clearly wants his kids to remain ‘grateful’ for any time he bestows upon them - which is something they did as little kids. He’s shown over the last 15 seasons that if you don’t worship him - then you are against him and he will ice you out. He has completely checked out of his other marriages and as soon as Janelle stops standing by him he will 100% only be committed to Robyn.
I also think the whole one house idea is purely because he is lazy and wants full control. It’s evident right now how much control and respect he’s lost and he is lashing out and is throwing a temper tantrum. I don’t think there is any hope of Meri & Kody being ever achieving even friendship. It makes me sad because both Christine and Meri are never going to be happy so long as they are tangled in Kodys world. I bet Kody showed zero support to Meri when her mom died. He couldn’t put his bruised ego aside for even one minute.

Yes, at least in the past, because he or one of the wives would re-explain something that viewers commented on - usually not favorable of polygamy or Kody or one wife or "wives".
A lot of defending of Kody's questionable/bad behavior was done by Christine. She would claim Kody was just being Kody! Once Christine got her Vegas home -- she was totally done with being a "sister wife". It is now Christine & her kid's house & Kody gets to visit. She will not live with her sister wives in one big house. She is over it. But, she still loves the guy.

Anytime theres a problem i c kody telling the wives that its their fault and that they need to work on it not him. When really it should b all of them. I know a lot of ppl hate him i dont hate but i really dont like how he treats his family theres no love on his end atleast i dont c it. Which i get a lot to juggle with all the kids all the wives but its like hes not dealing with any of it just haveing the wives handle everything and him just visiting every now amd then.idk maybe polygamists only care about how many kids they have.
