@@combatroombrazilianjiujitsu yes I know my Anzac bro, was just wondering if this was a usual things?. I should've elaborated. Apologies. . Just not something I have seen in "ancient" BJJ circles. . It was once a thing to be "surprised" with your belt when you were considered worthy across the vast criteria needed for this recognition. .
Ie. BJJ being usually different back in the day to other traditional graded systems where you passed or didn't.
