    I was getting into this because I used regular 6 plastic and they came out well and wanted to do more. This paper I bought shrank down 80% and not the 20% the plastic I tested was. Womp. Now I have charms that I can glue to my nails haha

    Came back to this video because I wanted to try playing with shrinky dinks again! I remembered you saying something about resin not sticking to the shrink plastic, which was my experience before as well, and I needed a reminder on how you fixed that issue. Thank you Amy! x

      Do you need to seal it before using resin? Someone said they used Grafix inkjet shrink plastic and used resin directly onto it, but can you use UV resin and not coat it as well?

    I love how you elevate the shrink plastic by dining it with resin. 💖
    I did a lot of cool jewellery about 20 years ago, but people couldn't see past the fact that it was plastic to appreciate the Art of it. The resin really makes a difference. I used to sand my plastic and use prismacolour (not the cheaper "scholar" version -- it streaks) coloured pencils, with sharpies or pigment liners for the linework.
    More recently, I did some jewellery using the print on kind. It is noticeably more expensive than the basic shrink plastic, but a very cool effect.

    Thank you so much for the video Amy! It's super informative. I have three questions : 1) Do you need to apply modpodge again after the last layer of black acrylic at the back, before you seal the back side with resin? 2) Is it necessary to seal the back side at all? Can I get away with not doing it? 3)Does modpodge work for colored pencils?

    • @AmyMade
      @AmyMade  3 роки тому

      No need to apply modpodge at all on the side you paint if applying resin. Only seal the backside if you colored it or if you’re applying resin. And modpodge works with colored pencils
