I just never really bought into the idea of them being "Nü-Metal" outside of the first two albums... We are kind of stretching it already; with IOWA, but my favourite song on the IOWA record "I Am Hated" is undeniably Nü-Metal. Looking back on all my listening sessions-Vol. 3 is *exactly* where I stop becoming a fan; every single time. This is when the band totally changes their look, and starts to sound more like "traditional metal" than ever before! Where is the rapping? The scratching? The crossover influence (whether that be funk, jazz, groove, hip hop, industrial influence(s)-just give me SOMETHING.) starts dissipating with each and every Slipknot record, from there on out. And that's my biggest gripe with this band......... My favourite version of Slipknot is the version nobody ever talks about, with their original vocalist; Anders Colsefni! If you're not familiar (I'm assuming you are, since Slipknot is your all time favourite band) I would highly recommend checking it out! Atleast all his recordings are very outlandish and *DO* have that crossover element of Nü-Metal! Unlike most of the Corey Taylor _(who I unfortunately cannot take seriously anymore-sorry, not sorry)_ albums. Just my opinion! The important thing to remember is that all music is subjective (: And if anyone disagrees; flame me in the comments BLEASW/!!!!@ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@DownfallDarkness I totally agree with you, after Slipknot's first 2 albums, the band stopped being creative. After Iowa I can only like "the virus of life", and that's it. And I absolutely love Slipknot's first album, and I really like Iowa too, I don't think any of them have any "not very good" song.
The Slipknot influence is strong with this one.
As someone who strongly dislikes Slipknot (but loves Stapled Shut, especially this track; my favourite)
