Have you thought of welding a chain on the cage gate that threads through the top, but allows slack for closing. This looks more work than it needs to be, seriously. Plus, you are taking one hell of a risk, putting your hand/arm into the trap to lift that door. That is seriously dangerous, and you could end up permanently disabled if one of those bigger pigs gets hold of it. You must find a solution. Also, the fact that you are doing this hungover is unbelievably foolish, I couldn't believe it when you said that. I'm not wanting to have a go at you, but some should, don't take such foolish risks man, it wasn't the pigs behaving like an ass. Just want you safe. You're not the man, you don't impress when you behave like that, and, you have children with you, what message are you sending, what lessons are you teaching your children when you behave like that. We become what we see, what we are taught by those who we consider our role models, you have a responsibility to ensure your kids see you doing it the right way, the sensible way, the non-hungover way, you sir, owe your kids that type of respect, they are, in case the hangover made you overlook the fact, your children! Get a grip man, change your behaviour, not later, after something has gone terribly wrong.
