Ohhhh, shooooooot!! I was NOT ready for this terrific video episode to end! Jason, I just cannot say how proud of you we viewers/subscribers are and how thankful we are that you share with us as you continue to fine tune your Eden on Earth! Now, eagerly waiting for the Friday morning blast from the Homestead Shop Talk!
Jason you work so smartly and your fence is very beautiful. You plan your work and work your plans it makes your videos not only a joy to watch but a fine example as well. Thank you
Ingenious fence building assistants - handy helper jigs! No wobbling aloud. Jason you always do it the smart way on your farm. A super great job on your fence.
That's working smarter than harder my father in law would tell my 73 year old husband. Your realy improving your homestead. Great music and your saving contractor expenses doing it yourselves. Blessings proud to get videos that has great contents
When I started watching you guys, I was kinda iffy about your channel, but as time went by, this has become my favorite. We now look at your channel as a source of information. A channel without the ego. Keep up the good work and put off buying the tractor.
I've been gone for a while and I was trying to remember your channel and being 76 years old I couldn't but by some miracle it popped up and I so glad you made it through the hurricane we had 105 MPH wind and lost some 3 foot in diameter pine trees but everything else is good main thing is no one was hurt
Just an FYI from an old farmer/rancher. If you want that fence to last dont use the welded wire, spend the little extra and get the wrapped wire kind. It comes in the same dimentions as the welded but lasts much longer. It will stand up to hogs much better than the welded. when I build a fence I spend a little extra to make it last. Im not a "homesteader" im a 6th generation farmer/rancher, my ancestors were the homesteaders. I've built many miles of fence, barbed wire, net wire, wood, and oilfield pipe. FYI you cut the post tops correctly but you need to either coat that post top with roof tar or make a cap of roof flashing. Sealing the post top will make that post last twice as long.
Jason & Loraine, I can't tell you how much I look forward to and enjoy your videos. Yes, even the fencing ones, Jason. I'm old so I have to live vicariously and I've learned a lot from watching how you do things. The way each of you put in a lot of thought and care into all you do is inspiring. The way you share your positive, can-do attitudes and watching you grow has brought me hours of joy and satisfaction. Thank you for sharing.
That fence is beautiful, Jason! I thought you would leave the posts tall and add a hot wire above the boards, but you explained how you would add a hot wire to the board side if you needed it in the future. Looks great!
The fence does look really good. Those jigs were really helpful. I love seeing those hams hanging there. Jason and Lorraine are a testiment to hard work pays off in droves.
SOW genius!!🤓 Those handy dandy helpers are brilliant! The fence looks 👀AWESOME!! I am always sow impressed with the three of you (four when Randy joins) and the amount of progress! Nice job! ❤
Love the new wood slats on the wire fence. You did a great job on the jig for spacing etc. Thanks for sharing. Your supper looks yummy, Lorraine. I'll bet it hit he spot after the fence build. Y'all have a Blessed day.
I like the jigs. I just use scrap 2x4 laying around and sometimes fight the board from falling off. One suggestion I would have when building a fence like this is to stagger your ends vs having all the joints on one post. It makes for a much stronger finished product!
Meatballs in the freezer is a great holiday planner, plus cold, shut in. My mother did before Thanksgiving. With you having your own ground pork it is easier to make a good big batch, abd in the cold it helped us to heat up the kitchen while making and take stress out for the holiday and winter. We could depend on no power in Connecticut in December thru January. And if we had a surprise, people coming over, all ready.
I always like working smarter. The fence looks fabulous! I think after doing the first fence section with your jig that you added the strip of wood to, l would have just screwed the strip of wood onto the jig so you wouldn’t have to keep adding it on top.
Lovely to visit you again on your beautiful property. Fun to be with you and sweet to see the animals! Impressive the quality, and amount of work you’ve done since you moved here!😊
Good gosh I love watching your videos. It's great to watch somebody follow a dream and be willing to learn all the "new stuff" with a smile on their face. You brought your lovely family with you and I just have to say you're an inspiration to a lot of us. My family is getting closer to jumping in feet first. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to y'all!
I really like your handy helper idea. I live alone off-grid as an older woman and often struggle with fencing trying to do t by myself. Although I think my subscribers love to watch me struggle hahaha.
I am always impressed with how kind you are to your animals. The wonderful homes you have made for them. Then you continue to impress me more with making things up as you go and they turn out as masterpieces. Your fencing is so well done and adds to the landscape as well as being sturdy and reliable. Your sense of humor makes me smile. The Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and your family. Merry Christmas.
Great little helpers you made there, very clever Jason a real time saver for sure! I am 5' tall rarely have a human helper available and find myself often engineering 'helpers' like that to do what would be otherwise nearly impossibe physically without another person's help!
What an amazing video Jason - WOW wish you were here in Brisbane Australia- I honestly have never seen such an innovative person like you. The fence is just fantastic. Lorraine I love your little cooking videos & always want to eat your meals so I try to recreate them to try. GREAT VIDEO GUYS- MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL 🥰🥰🥰 Love your friend Denise- Australia
Great job with the fence. A physical fence is peace of mind and helps you sleep better at night. Yes, you will have fence lines to maintain but for me I prefer a more natural look and will plant hedges and grow productive plants (muscadine grapes, raspberries, and other canes ) so the fence performs two functions: security and supporting plants. Plus we have goats who maintain the fence and keep it from getting weedy and have privet and vines growing.
Store bought lumber is AWFUL these days. We had to recently purchase some for a project and could barely find enough usable boards in their pile!! Been using sawmill lumber from a friend probably will just plan better and continue to use him in future. Love your handy helpers what a great idea!
have you considered a walk behind tractor, the new ones have many attachments, tiller, plows, haying equipment, pull a small trailer, mower, no front end loader but you have worked around that issue so far
Love this fence jason...the jigs worked well...ask Al about the liquid he stained his barns with they look good and you just do it with a cheap pump spray...😊
Your fence is looking so good! Your templates made great helping hands. Hahaha, with your comment about a tractor. I was thinking the same thing during your last video. Too much longer and all the "heavy lifting" will be over. But then I thought about bales of hay for cows and/or sheep if you get them and ongoing maintenance tasks.
Good Job Justin. Your starting to look like a professional farmer. Merry Christmas to you, Lorraine and Penelope. Hope your New Year is all you wish for. Cheers from Australia.
I usually FF the construction details on many of the projects the folks I follow do, but your thought process is always so interesting - and amusing - I seldom do with yours. I also love that you care that things “look nice “. Not something many. guys get caught up in! 🤓 Merry Christmas to your family 🎄
Love seeing your videos pop up! We are getting ready to buy our first homestead and are so excited. We’ve learned so much from your family and been given so much hope. Thank you! Merriest of Christmases to you and yours!🎄⛪️
Jigs always help. I have to Mark what they're for so in future I won't forget and clear them out and then have to rebuild them. Unfortunately I have in the past forgotten what I made them for , then they weren't there. 😂
Looks really good Jason. Happy Holidays to you and the family. Another year and I have enjoyed every video. Will definitely continue watching all you put up.
You folks are the REAL DEAL!! You need to give your 2 hired hands a name....Handy and Andy?
Ohhhh, shooooooot!! I was NOT ready for this terrific video episode to end!

Jason, I love how your brain works!
I do, too.
Merry Christmas, everyone ❤️ 🎄 Happy Santa 🤶 🧑🎄 ❤️ Day! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Those handy helpers really came in in a pinch. Fence looks good.
Ingenious fence building assistants - handy helper jigs! No wobbling aloud. Jason you always do it the smart way on your farm. A super great job on your fence.

Kunies are fantastic underappreciated characters 😊😊excellent fence very strong
That's a handsome fence you've built, Jason. Nicely done!
Take care and God Bless.
I like the look of the wood fencing.

Jason , it is always amazing how resourceful u are. Love your channel!
Your DIY videos are so motivational! It's like taking a course watching you problem solve. Faithful watcher from Ontario Canada. ❤️😊🇨🇦🙏👍
That fence is beautiful, Jason! I thought you would leave the posts tall and add a hot wire above the boards, but you explained how you would add a hot wire to the board side if you needed it in the future. Looks great!
Jason. I agree with you jigs are extremely helpful when doing things. Especially if you're working by yourself. The fence is looking great.
The fence does look really good. Those jigs were really helpful.
I love seeing those hams hanging there.
Jason and Lorraine are a testiment to hard work pays off in droves.
That was sooooo smart. I never built a fence so I am not an expert but I appreciate your ingenuity.
SOW genius!!🤓 Those handy dandy helpers are brilliant! The fence looks 👀AWESOME!! I am always sow impressed with the three of you (four when Randy joins) and the amount of progress! Nice job! ❤
The fence looks good.
funny how just adding a fence changes the whole look of the farm. looks great!
Just love your personality’s great family. Enjoy watching you. God bless and keep you.
Excellent job, Jason. I really love your fencing. You are a hard worker and a blessing to your family
Highest regard for your problem-solving skills.👍🏼
Thanks 👍

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the "handy helper" idea!!
What a great idea when you're working alone (like I do)!
😁

That's using the old noodle! Genius thinking, creating those spacer/holder/helpers!
I always like working smarter. The fence looks fabulous! I think after doing the first fence section with your jig that you added the strip of wood to, l would have just screwed the strip of wood onto the jig so you wouldn’t have to keep adding it on top.

Pretty slick, but I kept waiting for you to tack that extra shim to the jig.
Fence looks fantastic.
Jason, That's a nice looking fence. Excellent idea creating your wood helpers!!!
Awesome idea. So much better than having to keep measuring every post.
Kunies are fantastic underappreciated characters 😊😊

Your jigs are so simple yet sensible!
Fence looks terrific! Again, your videos are so helpful for new homesteaders.
So nice of you
Jason! I love your outlook on life. And your families farm life. Thanks for the video.
I really like your handy helper idea. I live alone off-grid as an older woman and often struggle with fencing trying to do t by myself. Although I think my subscribers love to watch me struggle hahaha.
Oof thinking with the spacers!

Oh that epic underbite on the black & white kuni! Love it!
Great job, Jason!!! Love seeing your video's and following your family.
That’s a great looking fence. I’m amazed at your skills.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You are so creative, LOVE the handy helpers.😊
Great video and if you have any spare timber you could make caps for the top of the fence posts to prevent rot
Great little helpers you made there, very clever Jason a real time saver for sure! I am 5' tall rarely have a human helper available and find myself often engineering 'helpers' like that to do what would be otherwise nearly impossibe physically without another person's help!
Beautiful job on the fence and that was very smart to make those jigs.
For 9 years you have done without a tractor but to be honest this is the machine to have, few times you have borrowed a tractor and helped you a lot
It’s nice to see you accomplish everything. Some channels seem like they are in competition to buy as much equipment as possible.

Love your handy helpers what a great idea!
Looks great! Reminds me of the fence my grandfather put all around their home area on their farm.
I think you can put a piece of aluminum on top of the post. Helps keep water out, post lasts longer
Hi, Jason! Your handy helpers are a very clever idea. I am getting excited about your end of year video.
have you considered a walk behind tractor, the new ones have many attachments, tiller, plows, haying equipment, pull a small trailer, mower, no front end loader but you have worked around that issue so far
Good looking fencing👍
Great job on the fence and the wood helpers were awesome 👏
