The Best Ski Line of My Life?!?! // MOUNT ADAMS SOUTHWEST CHUTES

- The southwest chutes of Mount Adams are a classic PNW spring/summer ski line...it's a beautiful ramp starting at Pikers Peak perfectly sustained at 35-38 degrees for over 4000'... a dream line by any standards. I attempted this last spring and had to bail on the SW chutes due to a very slick ice crust on the mountain. This time I and Mitch got the chutes in perfect condition and skied 4500' of perfect corn in the chutes and its run out. Redemption was oh so sweet!

Love your videos 🤘🏼(and they're the right length too!)
thanks!
nice work. now on my to do list
This line should be on every skier’s to-do list!!!
Nice work, three good ones in three days!
Thank you! One more video from Mount Rainier coming next Monday! Then that’ll be it for volcanoes in 2023!
haha the ice axe strapped to the ski pole is nice
check out the black diamond whippet ! unless u did it for weight savings or wtv
nice video per usual
I'm too cool for a whippet lol
Very enjoyable ride. Guess you didn’t need the icepick for self arrest that day as I didn’t see any ice or boiler plate. Whats next on your list. Cant wait to see!
Correct, the ice axe was unnecessary, but I’d rather have it available and ready to use just in case!
I have a video from my Mount Rainier climb coming next Monday, and possibly one or two more videos of summer ski lines in Utah later on depending on what I get to the next two weekends
I'm looking to do this climb and ski this coming spring. What is the date did you do this? I'm trying to gauge the best month range to go.
I did this mid-May last season. May is a pretty safe bet for the SW chutes of Adam’s. I would recommend just watching the weather and ski it once there’s a good spring weather window. You can’t really plan exact dates months in advance for the PNW volcanoes if you want good conditions.
@@seamus.dolan98 Cool that is what I'm thinking. I'm going to drive from Utah so I was just going to be checking the weather in starting in May - June and go a time it looks good.
@@KevinTame yup that's what I do
