I dont think so. It has been tried many times, those runs are not that uncommon, and you can find plenty of videos with helmet mounted gopros. Thing is you cant see as much as you think from such an angle. It would likely be a mixture of snow and the tip of his skis and sky and nothing else.
@@ceoofbased8742 un français yes
This is one of the few videos that really properly shows how incredibly steep and difficult this kind of skiing is.
Doesnt actually show anything.
@@admiralbenbow5083 exactly
@@admiralbenbow5083 I did see how little he was in control until he was out of danger ...
Never really understood the fascination of this type of skiing.
First you walk up a huge mountain.
Second, you enjoy the view which can be seen from many ski resorts.
Third you race down a steep part where the risk for avalanche is high.
Why even do it? Too risky
Good call wearing yellow pants. I would’ve had to go with brown personally…

I was feeling happy that I finally had the guts to learn skiing and did a green run. This guy is insane. Loved the emotions at the end.
Check out his old pictures made in 2000's one of the first landing some huge backflips in backountry.
It looks like that was just falling down a sheer cliff, and he happened to have skis on at the time Never the less, its pretty rad
Nearly thought this was real life for a second. Amazing game. 10/10 for the developers.

I was in my room, sitting safely on my chair in hot December in Israel, and scared to death to see this video. I was very worried for the guy. It is insane to do such things. I was happy to see that he manage to do it.
I'm pretty sure he was falling instead of skiing
Tell me how would you ski that. I'm listening

Did the Wrath of God film this? That's not a line, that's suicide
Best line of the decade. Wow. Respect.
If he ever invites me skiing, I can't afford the time off work.
That slope had to be 70 degrees at least... Holy fuckign shit man, thats no longer skiing, its literally a controlled fall down the mountain. I have seen some crazy shit but even Peak 7601 in Alaska wasn't that steep!
tankmaster1018 Still amazing.
Well, the tether kept him alive. Do that without, he's toast.
@@retireorbust tether?

Many years ago, I skied all the famous mountain ski areas all over the world, and even heli-skied a couple of times, but NOT to the extent I see in the above video! Avalanches are deadly and take lives every year. There are places where they shoot cannons off to break off those ice shelves and snow banks, but it can still be dangerous. I know I wouldn't chance it now -- as you age, you take less chances with your life! I would never ski off a giant cliff like they do now -- for one things, I have a great respect for heights and have always had acrophobia since I was a child, have had to deal with it and overcome it at times, but you never completely get over it. I learned to fly years ago and it helped a lot, but that motor under you really helps! I still can't stand on the edge of something really high with no rail, because you get that feeling that it's going to pull you off and down!
0:36 usually this is the time when I wake up
Exactly..
If you are watching this on your phone… rewatch it upside down and also side ways you will see the depth of the snow and the fall.

Totally insane. Many thanks and glad I watched this on the toilet.
You can name it brave/stupid/crazy/balls whatever... The reality is - it's on another level!
The adrenaline rush You get from watching this is already INSANE :D
It's a crazy line, but it's not enjoyable skiing....
+Tom Tom That depends. For us mere mortals, it's suicide. But for people pushing the limit, it's the rush that they're searching for. I've certainly seen it as improved with my skiing these past 2 years. There were lines I would never had ridden 2 years ago but I'm quite comfortable now. :)
ociroid
That's the difference. There are lines that seem crazy when you^re not good enough that become enjoyable when you progress...But here he's obviously touching his limits (which are indeed very impressive). What we see here is not joy and pleasure. The guy certainly had an adrenaline rush and has been very happy to have gone through but that is not pleasure!
I know I've had that feeling many times, when you thought before "Hey let's do that off-piste couloir, it looks so fucking good" and when 10 min. later you're in the middle of a 45 degrees slope with very heavy snow, you're tired and you can only do jump turn and you think "ok let's get done with it so that I can enjoy myself again". It's a challenge, not pleasure!
+Tom Tom its not even that good of a line its just down hill in powder
I sure hope he does enjoy it... i just don't.
type 2 fun for sure
This is among the best things I've ever seen in any category
Beautiful scenery ❤️🙏✝️
Fantastic skiing ability! No jump turn on such a steep cliff. With some pivoting and early weight transition, it even looks very natural.Amzing technique!
Lol at 1:06. A motivational snack
+Matt August haha nom
xD
I noticed that too
XD
Matt August what am I missing?
Even watching it made my heart beat faster.
this is one of the sickest, scariest things ive ever seen. He almost slides too far down the inital drop on the approach, and getting the second ski up onto that little hummockis sooooo dicey. I cant believe he looked down on this line and thought "Ill side slide down to that hump the ski down to that little serac then walk to the edge...." Just getting to the drop in is incredibly grippy! Balls of steel
This dude is living life to its fullest. It's not about wanting to die. It's about wanting to really live.
Exactly 💯 And if you happen to die while really living then life had real meaning. Nobody gets out of life alive might as well do what you love!

+Therealcactus NO! It's "Le Luisin"

This is a terrific video. We used to call this survival skiing. A cross between falling and skiing. Even a beginner does this on the learning slopes, that is the beginner crosses the fall line horizontally at a shallow angle, then at the side of the slope, stops, somehow stomps around 180 degrees and repeats. That's what this guy is doing, only with real guts and gusto.
Danke-Thanks for showing me how to create an avalanche!😉😊
Bravo Nicolas j'adore

What would happen if the snow collapsed even just a tiny bit and he falls to his left in the very beginning of the vid?

He would have controled the situation, but in any case, after years of skiing you can feel those kind of things
Probably would have been toast.
1:05 - when you're on the side of a deathly high cliff edge but fancy some snow to eat
Всем привет. Что это за штука у него, на чем камера держится?
all the video I'm wondering how he came on the top of this !?
Seriously a normal camera-on-the-helmet would have been 1000 times better
But head mounts make that stuff look like a blue. This way it's more easier to see how steep it is.
Rompstir rompson both would be the best
JT Lieser I mean, it would be pretty easy to tell how steep it was when you see that he basically starts free falling
Atlanta houses
I think this cam angle does a better kid showing off how steep the terrain is. A second helmet cam in addition would've been sick. This is where 360 footage shines.
