Nottingham Running Festival 2022 Half Marathon

In this episode of The Wu, I'm at the Nottingham Running Festival 2022 Half Marathon on the hottest day of the year! The half marathon runs 4 laps of the Nottingham race course and also goes through Colwick Park for some much needed shade, however with temps rising fast through the morning it was always going to get messy!

Yep definitely not that enjoyable. Much prefer bigger events on the closed off roads.

I think the large parts of the laps not under shade were the killer. We had some going through some tree cover but maybe only 1km or so.

Hi. Thanks for the video and well done. I'm on vacation in the UK and will run this race on Sunday. I have my trail running shoes and Nike vaporfly with me. Which shoes do you think works best with the surface. The website doesn't say anything about it. Cheers

When I ran i remember it just had a section which seemed a lot of gravel they might have changed it or resurfaced it by now as it looked a bit rough. Go with road shoes but yea just be careful on the gravel.

Thanks love your videos must admit heat is my least favorite running condition would rather run in the rain! Recognise many of your routes as I run them too living at Beauchief Also did Sheffield and Leeds half but not as fast as you!Actually found Leeds harder despite less hills probably because of the heat.

What is it that goes in your shoe?

That was the chip mate. Some races do it like that and some have the chip attached to the front shirt bib.
