    Nice review. Toss a little file in the case and you can resharpen that blade several times, so with a spare you can easily go 5-10 years of major woodcutting and maybe longer, all depends on how you sharpen
    edit: I forgot to mention that because the blades are able to be resharpened, where silkies really aren't, that it makes these kind of saws the best price to performance, also the unbreakable factor of the blades as well

    • @JTDOutdoors
      @JTDOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      I never once considered resharpening the blade that's brilliant thank you I got some research to do now. but I couldn't agree more they are absaloutly worth the price although expensive ill have it for life

      @@JTDOutdoors if you go to harbor freight they have a 12 pack of little files for 4.99, the little flat ones or triangle ones work perfect (whatever ones fit down between the teeth). Don't be scared to file a bowsaw it literally takes 10 minutes for a blade that size, each tooth has two easy angles to do and the rakers are just flat if you want to touch those up.
      I put orange paracord on the handles of my little files and wrap them with orange hockey tape so nothing in the bush gets lost

    Nice review! I’m a bit torn between the 24 and 21 inches, but will probably go for the smaller size for compactness and lightweight.

    • @JTDOutdoors
      @JTDOutdoors  11 днів тому

      @F91jvuDX 24 was the only one available to order when I purchased the 21 was out of stock unfortunately but kinda glad I have the 24 I have used my buddies 21 recently and the few extra inches is nice plus can cut a bit larger diameter

    Thanks for the video. I would love to have the Agawa Canyon Boreal21 or 24...or perhaps that 15" model, but it is hard to justify when I have the Bob Durstrude's Quick Buck Saw and only need it occasionally. Both are great designs.

    Curious how this saw compares to a Silky Big Boy.
    Are these Bahco blades?
    Love the Agawa design!

    • @JTDOutdoors
      @JTDOutdoors  2 місяці тому +2

      @Birdman884 couldn't tell ya to ne honest I have never owned pr tried a silky. they are the Agawa blades that came with it. Main reason for purchasing this saw was that I can get blades at any hardware store it's a standard size. Silky isn't widely available near me I'm in a small town in BC and hated the idea of having to order blades online

    • @Birdman884
      @Birdman884 2 місяці тому +1

      @@JTDOutdoors Great saw for sure and versatile! I think the blades that are produced for them are from Bahco. Another video mentioned Agawa handles are Canadian manufactured and a Scandinavian country for the blade origins.

    Great review! As much as I love these saws. Especially so, due to its packability. But the price point seems a little high. But I get it, its quality.. yes.. But the price goes up exponentially with the size. Like 150 dollars for a 21+ inch buck saw? To rich for my blood.. lol.

      pricing isnt something i typcially add to my videos as it varies greatly from prvince to province or country to country. I show off the good and bad of the products if they interest you a simple google search in your area will give you the prices and you can find the best pricing for your location 👍 Agawas site to amazon dealers the prices vary greatly its tough to add the dollar figure in alot of cases

    In hindsight would you rather have the 24” or slightly smaller 21”?

    • @JTDOutdoors
      @JTDOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      not at all to be honest but I have never used a 21. the 24 does give a little extra cutting depth and was all that was available at the time of order lol.

    • @Birdman884
      @Birdman884 2 місяці тому

      I imagine the 21 fits in packs better and performance has to be very close to the 24"

  • @wendellbell6164

    1 reviewer had proables hitting there hand on what they were cutting with the 21". Do you have any trouble with the 24" once you get the stoke down?

    • @JTDOutdoors

      all depends which way you hold the log 👍gotta be aware of where your hands going to go when the peice your cutting breaks free and slow down the stroke near the end you'll have no issues
