This one is definitely tougher than last week in terms of clearing time. I managed to get a sub 3 minute clear last week with bow/wand, this week is already proving difficult. Last week's rank 1 bow/wand was 2:12 and this week they're 2:42. I know I should be able to do this sub 3 minutes if you did 3:17 with sns/bow which is even less damage than bow/wand. I'm 2800 CP with practically all skills epic lv1-3 but I am fully leveled and traited blues. This might be the week I'm forced to go epic bow even if it's not max traited just to get higher max weapon damage. Going from 57-177 to 56-217 is a big increase. Abilities like Brutal Arrow + Gale and Corrupted Magic Circle + Rotten Swamp are difficult to utilize on this boss without having it in the stun after intermission. Have you considered using Blitz in your bow rotation? I'm not sure how Ensnaring Arrow even works on this boss since it's CC immune, the skill says it applies Shackle instead but Decisive Sniping damage increase says it only works vs other CCs besides Shackle.
Yes definitely tougher this week for time, I cleared sub 3 minutes with SnS/Bow on the last one, with about 2500 gear score, but only got 3:10 or something on that guy. I'll get it sub 3 by the end of the week for the achievement reward but definitely a bit tighter. I haven't played around with Blitz yet but I'll give it a play. I'm not using ensnaring shot for the boost to decisive snipe, I'm using it for the passive that gives crit chance against bound/shackled targets. It lasts about 4 seconds at my current upgrade, I use it into shield throw for heavy attack followed by the first 2 strafes, which will have higher crit and heavy attack. You can see the buffs overlap in the video. This may not be optimised - I started playing SnS/Bow about 3 or 4 hours of in-game time before this kill so I'm still playing around with burst sequence and buffs. A very big part of the SnS/Bow damage comes from provoking roars passive, Spectrum of Agony - because bow hits so many times between brutal arrow (with gale) and strafe x 3 it extends the duration of provoking roar nearly indefinitely and you can get permanent and many procs from spectrum of agony. It's feeling punchier than I expected so far - last week my SnS/GS was only about 20 seconds faster, 2:20 vs 2:40
Hmmm upon reading it again, the passive Steady Aim increases crit chance against "bound" or "oppressed" targets. I thought that was shackled... as I said I've been playing now for like a day haha. Not sure what oppressed is I can't find it anywhere else in the bow skills/specs - it would make sense for it to be bound or shackled (mistranslated), as that's how most of the greatsword stun buffs work on either stunned or shocked targets for PvE purposes. Let me know your thoughts
@@WilstormGaming You're changing the way I think about bow and dpsing even as a healer main ahah I love it, thank you. I generally play at range (as I normally should) with Sniper's Sense passive, as Steady Aim isn't as consistent dps increase. But when I watched your video originally, the way you're playing makes the boss easier in terms of DPS uptime since you're not dealing with having to pause rotation with the projectile fury attack, it's easier to stand toe to toe and instablock the melee fury slam. I'm probably losing crit chance and DPS with Sniper's Sense because of this, Steady Aim and slotting Ensnaring Arrow might be the play. As I play this boss more it is still hard for me to get under 3:30 with blue gear, I think the weapons might actually be the difference. But Steady Aim might be bad for me as bow/wand as I do not have extra CC abilities like shield does to continue critting after Ensnaring. The stuff you mentioned about CC and translation is stuff I don't know either. I'd have to pay attention to damage when testing.
Short and sweet. Thank you.
