As a Canadian, it feels nice to know I’m not the only one upset about the coffee shipping:( I LOVE Emma to death, she helped me through so much, and I love coffee so much, I just can’t afford to pay shipping double the price of the product I’m buying 😫

@@courtneyschaump exactly seems very wrong, I leave in Quebec, order often from Us, often I do not even pay a custom fees , but when I had to pay one it never exceed 40-50$ big max. You will thing it will also be based on the pricing of what you had orders. This makes absolutely no sens at all. At first I thought it's because her location , but the clothes (who surely cost her more than the Emma coffee was less custom fees) this is strange.
I wonder if there are forwarding services you could use? You ship your items to a US warehouse then consolidate parcels to ship them for cheaper to your country

@@livyliny7902 customs are taxes /fees that one has to pay when shipping items from one country to another. Mia had to pay that price because it was going from the USA to Canada
It is the sender’s fault if the customs are insane. It means they haven’t bothered to set up a customs arrangement, or looked into it at all. If you ‘ship’ the item without a contract, it is going to be insane. If it’s food, or anything perishable, it will be way worse. Any US sender who takes three seconds to set up a contract with a shipping company will save their customers a ton of money. I simply refuse to pay insane customs fees- I once had to pay $2.55cdn in tax, but with all the shipping fees and brokerage fees it was over $60.00 added!!!! Bonkers! (PS- a couple of tips- keep it under $100 if u can, they don’t usually charge under $100. Tell the sender to send it via regular mail- Canada post brokerage fees are way cheaper than the for profit guys.).

Halo taco is definitely worth the price. It stays on my nails for weeks when no other brand does, and the holo makes it freaking gorgeous!!! She has 'one coat black' and 'not milky white,' and they are the most opaque black and white nail polishes I've ever tried.
It's literally the only brand I buy anymore cause they dry so fast and so cleanly. And you gotta love anything holo or glittery!
I wish postage to the UK was cheaper. I soooo want some Holo Taco polish. I've been following Cristine for a long time!

I tend to get them for myself and my older sister as she is a rock climber and after i gave her some before she told me how it even stayed on after climbing
I’m on the fence to try out Holo Taco but shipping and customs to 🇨🇭 are sooooooo expensive! All polishes I tried are chipping away the next day but if they that good, maybe I have to try them anyway. 🤷🏻♀️

In case no one in the 2000+ comments mentioned this: Peely Base has a "normal" black brush, Glossy Taco has a clear one. (Checking under the bottle work too of course; sometimes you can't though and remembering this is helpful)

Awesome to see Holo Taco in this! Absolutely the best nail polish I’ve ever used! As someone with agoraphobia and who’s never had my nails done professionally, I still get to have amazing looking nails without the anxiety of leaving the house and also feeling insecure about my hands/nails 😅❤️

Am I the only one who thinks the workout dress is SO not cute? It’s not anything about Mia - I’ve seen others try it on also and it always looks so ugly to me. The black color is better than the pink which I’ve seen tried on and it’s a dingy, approaching skin kind of tone, drab color pink. I cannot figure out WHY THE HECK people think it’s cute! Is it because it’s something that isn’t commonly seen (a workout dress) and so that fact somehow translates into “it’s cute”??

As an Aussie I totally feel your postage frustration. The amount of times you get to the checkout for it to say they don’t ship here is amazing. You’ve convinced me to buy the pizza sauce and nail polish. Great way to start my Saturday morning. Have a happy day.
Another Aussie here and I agree with you about sending to Australia. Holo taco is great I have been using it for years. Don’t understand the import tax though. Happy for someone to explain it.
A lot of times it is the country itself charging all these import taxes as a way to deter out of country purchases. It sucks though!
@@alexispemberton3615 I'm inAustralia and never been charged a custom fee. But the postage fee can be high. Its really weird that Canada does that. I would be scared to order online if I never knew I would have to pay $100+ to receive my parcel. I mean you can't just say no and get a refund from the store I assume. So if you don't pay custom you just wasted all the money you already spent. They are holding peoples parcels hostage

Canadians like to pronounce the A’s like that! Every time I go back I automatically revert back to pronouncing A’s like that. Instead of saying pasta like “Paw-stuh” it comes out like “pahh-stuh”

Hey Mia, if you're in no hurry with a shipment, you can reject shipments and ask CBSA to recalculate your customs charges, if you think it's way too high.
They may or may not do it, but I've done it a couple of times and the charges have come down 😊

What is the customs fee all about, and why is it so high? And why aren't customers told before they make the purchase how much it will be?
As an Australian this has always confused me, and I've always wondered how those who don't have tonnes of money can afford a sudden huge fee like that without warning 😬
@@katyb2793 as far as I know, custom fees are fees imposed by the government of each country for basically importing an item from another country. Like an extra charge for not buying an item from a local vendor. I know nothing about how the fees are calculated or which items get them, and online vendors don’t know either, since custom fees are unique to each country, so the most they can tell a customer is “this may be subject to custom fees”🤷🏻♀️

The way Australia deals with it is we now pay a 10% goods and services tax (which we pay on everything in Australia too) on anything bought from overseas. I think the company we buy from is required to add the 10% charge and pay it to the government. We don't have to do anything.

@@katyb2793 We don’t pay customs on everything though. What items get fees depends on what they are, which country they come from, where they’re made and the value of the item, and that’s all calculated by Canadian Border Services. We don’t pay GST on overseas items 🤷🏻♀️

Idk of its an accent thing more she just doesn’t know. I live in the northern United States where we have what I would call a less severe Canadian accent lmao and I hear it pronounced both ways, but when I ask people or correct them, it’s more that they just didn’t know.
I’m Canadian and I pronounce it “maw - tcha”. We don’t typically say it how she does

As a fellow Canadian I super appreciate you including the amount for customs as I always want to try some of these products but get gun shy when unsure of the amount so it's nice to get a ballpark for what it might be. 😀
Why are the fees so much? Especially for a small package? As an American I don’t understand. Especially because she paid $20 in shipping
@reed szvoren so the shipping fee goes to the seller to cover the cost of sending it. The customs (I believe) is essentially duties and taxes and it typically only applies to things above a certain value. Unfortunately for Mia, a lot of these items are over that value and might even fall under the 'luxury goods' additional taxes. I don't really know the details but I think those things may be taxed higher to help prevent smuggling and importing for resale through improper channels. It can be a big bummer though and sometimes seems way out of wack where the customs end up more expensive than the original order!
I work at the post office and it’s decided by Canadian border services! From my experience its basically the tax amount for your province plus a service fee! It depends on the Canadian value of the parcel and the reason for import! A gift valued at less than $100 is not likely going to have customs. A sale/purchase will likely get charged! I also believe if you frequently make purchases outside the country the more likely you will be charged customs! (Note: If you order tobacco products internationally you also get slammed with fees previously mentioned plus duties…it’s never worth it!)

I live in Denmark, so I know if I buy something from outside the EU, I will get slammed with taxes on the package if its over the value of like $10, so thats basically everything that will get 25% extra price on it. But I honestly dont know how they can see what the value of the item is 🤣🤣

You should try making a "junk" (not only for junk obvs) journal, that way you don't have to throw away cute packaging or tags! It's also a great creative outlet because you can make the pages look cute and aesthetic with colored paper, markers, or washi tape!

hi mia! love the video💗💗, if anyone didn’t already know this, mr.beasts chocolate is actually bigger, but they do come in a mini size! they are more common to find in stores since everyone buys the bigger ones😂, thats why when she checked on the website, they were selling the full bars, so full price! you can also see in a clip that she shows of his video where he introduces the chocolate, it is much bigger than what she had, anyways, love you mia!!

I love Holo Taco. I only own 4 colors and some holos, but when one of them was bad, they offered to send me new, and when it turned out it was sold out, they immediately refunded me. (I did keep it, and with some lacquer thinner, it works pretty well). I have the ones that are her cats colors. They're SO good.

I am Holo Taco obsessed. Officially. I have every collection Cristine has released with Holo Taco. The only HT product I haven't purchased is the dad baseball hats. But as far as the polishes & tools & organizers... I have it all. I have watched other UA-camrs review Holo Taco & rightfully so, they all love it. Her collections sell out fast, especially the limited collections. I am not that skilled at painting my nails, but somehow her polishes make it easy to have a beautiful manicure. I get a lot of compliments, especially when I wear Laven-Duh. You should really give that color a try, Mia.

Late to the game but... I would say Holo Taco's price point is on par with drug store polishes in the US. I've tried $35-40 high end nail polishes and they don't begin to compare to $11 Holo Taco!!

I was hoping so badly you’d be impressed with Christine’s nail products. She puts soooo much work into her holo taco line.
I’m curious- how do you know how much work Christine puts into her polish line? I’m not saying you’re wrong but how would you know? (Unless you know her personally or work for the company?) I mean, I’ve heard her talk about how she swatches the colors on her nails - as I’d expect anyone who starts their own nail polish company, to do. I’d also expect her to test the formulas and do wear tests - again - as any cosmetic type company founder would do (I’m sure Manny MUA works on and tests various formulas and shades for his cosmetics, as did Nikki Tutorials with her products and Tati with her vitamins and palette, etc.). It actually seems like perhaps less work for a nail polish company owner than a cosmetic brand owner, when it comes to formulations and trials, as nail polish has a few different items to develop (top coat, jelly, creme, sparkle, metallic formulas…and surely there are similarities across each), whereas Manny tests and approves many different products (eyeshadows and lip products and highlighters and blushes, etc.). Yeah, I’m sure there are owners who choose to be less involved in formulating and mixing up shades, however we - as random people - would have no way of knowing how much time and effort brand creators invest in creating, testing and approving their products. (Unless there’s a personal relationship with the creator and/or company) Simply hearing such creators say things like “I work hard on my products” or “I spend a lot of time creating my products” is what any brand owner would want viewers and customers to believe, and isn’t reliable info. I’ve heard Fiona Frills repeatedly discuss how shes knowledgeable about every ingredient in her Frilliance products and is super involved in formulating, yet any time she tries to speak about skincare and ingredients in general, nearly everything she says is incorrect, and makes it very clear that she is not knowledgeable about skincare ingredients and hasn’t invested her time into doing proper research. She typically makes comments that are giveaways when someone is not knowledgeable like using those nonsense terms “clean” “natural” “no chemicals” etc., in addition to the whole “Frilliance is made for teens and their skin issues”. What does that even mean? Maybe helps with acne issues, which tends to be an issue for many teens? However none of her products contain any active ingredients which have been proven to be effective in battling acne, such as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. Even tea tree oil isn’t to be found. That leaves a line of cream blush and highlighter, facial mist, lip gloss and maybe a brush - said to focus on the skin issues teens often have to help improve their skin. Call me crazy but I’ve never come across advice from someone knowledge in skin issues who has advised using “creme blush and highlighter, facial mist and lip gloss” as treatment to clear acne…or to improve anyone’s skin ever.
That was a rant. However I am very bothered by start a brand and push their products onto customers, all while that owner has put zero effort into learning legitimate facts about what they make, and instead spout baseless nonsense to customers to get them to make purchases. ESPECIALLY when they sell to kids and teens. It’s wrong to tell teens that Frilloance products will help them achieve clear skin - when the products have no active ingredients to be able to treat acne, nor are the product types those that improve skin at all. Applying creme makeup doesn’t treat acne. Lies to kids and teens, all in aims of making money - one of the most dishonorable behaviors in selling beauty and any products.
Man I thought I had it bad out here in NZ, glad to see even places like Canada can have trouble sometimes with getting stuff that ship to them just like us out here~

I got Holo Taco polishes for Xmas after having it on my list for years. I expected them to be good but honestly I went a WHOLE WEEK wearing it with a crappy topcoat and base (cuz I didnt get the top coat unfortunately) and they still didnt chip! The holo glitter was intense and gorgeous and I kinda want to buy some more for myself now. Definitely worth the price!
Mia, if you do sparkles again, and want more intense or fully covered sparkles, do it on a sponge first. The sponge will absorb more oil from the nail, leaving the sparkles. Then use the sponge to dab on the nails. Boom! Intense sparkle!
You actually don’t with the one she bought. It is pretty intense if you don’t wipe the brush like she did. I’ve struggled trying to get it subtle rather than it’s full impact.

LOVE Holo Taco! I have the Matcha Maker, and it dries so quick. I can do my nails before bed and they don't get ruined sleeping, and LAST a good while on my nails (I have to wash my hands like 20 times a day at work and I can go for almost a week without huge chips in the nails) I owne 13 colors, in all types and none of them are disappointing at all!

Holo Taco is the the best nail polish! She is one UA-camr I trusted the moment she put out her own brand. Lasting base coats, creme's that actually cover (and are smooth), endless toppers (holo, shimmer, flakie etc), and best top coat ever. I have every box set she has released, I save up just for the launches.

Honestly, I’d encourage you to look elsewhere. She may have a decent line of clothing, but she really promotes diet culture and toxic workout trends. I used to be obsessed with her and it took me a long time to correct the damage she did to my mental health. I work in the fitness industry now and cringe at the fact that I ever thought she had any merit.
Between myself and one of my friends, we own every Holo Taco polish. Every base, every colour, every topper and most of the accessories. I hate using any other polish now, because Holo is just that good. Cristine knows nail polish and it shows.
