- A very short video of Eurofighter Typhoon Gold (by Rage Software and Digital Image Design, 2001) running smoothly under windows 8.1 64 bits. Intro movie, loading screen and multiplayer coop mission gameplay displayed as illustration.
how did you get this to run? Found a retail version of Gold but it just won't even start up :(
You need a software called DgVoodoo2 : it's a great solution. It's a 3dfX emulator but it mainly helps with old directX games. You can set up HD resolutions, anti-aliasing, and whatnot. I use it most of the time. Here's the link for the download : dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/

Managed to solve the gold edition issue though, seems like the original exe can't handle win10
I've installed the game too. but I don't hear the pilots speech. What's your audio settings?

I have to ask about widescreen capabilities of dgvoodoo on this game. Do they work or is it always 1024x768?
Hum... let's see... it's been a while... In the video I'm using dgvoodo2 - V. 2.54.4 (look for archived versions on the webpage). Settings are 1/ General tab : Fullscreen checked - scaling mode = Stretched/4:3 aspect ratio - Enumerate refresh rates checked - Keep window aspect ratio checked - capture mouse checked 2/DirectX tab : dgvoodoo Virtual 3D Accelerated card - Force anisotropic filtering X16 - VRAM =1024MB - Resolution = 1600x1200 (choose your hz depending on your monitor) - Anti-aliasing = X8 - Force Vsync checked. Hope that helps....
I'm writing down my settings but keep in mind that you'll probably have to tinker with dgvoodoo2 to get some good results. You can definitely up the resolution, just don't go too high. Trial and error will get you to the "sweet spot".
@@andromedius Thanks man! I've been using DGVoodoo2 V 2.63.2 for Wizardry 8, Zanzarah: the hidden portal, Sacred Gold and now this. All those games are Directx7 which run ok-ish but needed dgvoodoo to run perfectly.
Wizardry 8 run smoothly until some transparent textures came up and the FPS tanked.
Zanzarah had horrible FPS and no widescreen resolutions.
Sacred Gold run fine, but when you zoomed out to see a greater area the game lagged to 2-3 fps.
I finished the main EF Typhoon campaign a couple of months ago, but I have the Gold edition. This fix will make the game more enjoyable for sure! Thanks!
