Let the heat from the curling iron/wand help smooth out your hair and do away with the flat iron for less heat on the hair. Also use a oil heat protector on each section (Olaplex) not just the top layer. Blonde hair already has a high pH and is prone to snap easier especially with heat! You should really try the heatless curler band. It has changed my life!!!! It takes no time at all, literally like 10 minutes, and it gives the prettiest curls!!!!!

Paul mitchel makes an amazing “working spray & HOLD SPRAY… also. If you have straight hair why would you apply heat to your hair prior to the curling iron? It only causes resistance to the curling iron. Especially when you have lightened hair. That’s so much heat. All this causes resistance.
In other videos she mentioned her natural hair is wavy/curly but she has extensions (and IMO extremely damaged hair that probably doesnt even have a curl anymore)

Hair can for sure break off from heat damage, but it will not prevent your hair from continuing to grow.
