Ganja & Hess - Deleted & Alternate Scenes (Part 2 of 2)

These two videos are a compilation of scenes that director Bill Gunn shot for his classic African-American art-horror film Ganja & Hess but did not include in his final director's cut (available on DVD from Image/All Day Entertainment). However, these scenes were subsequently used in the shorter re-edit of the film, which went out under various names such as Double Possession, Blood Couple, Black Vampire, Black Evil, Black Out: The Moment Of Terror, and Vampires Of Harlem. (This compilation is sourced from a transfer of a Blood Couple VHS.) Crucially, these scenes reveals bits of exposition that Gunn chose to leave more elliptical in the final cut.

Of all the different releases/titles of G& H only Blood Couple is different almost feels like a whole new movie.
Black Evil, Blackout, & Black Vampire are exactly the same (except for title card scenes) as Blood Couple.
The Blood Couple edit is actually good- not great like Ganja & Hess. Both are worth scoping out.

Oriental Studios actually I rewatched Blackout. The intro is slightly different in editing otherwise it’s the Blood Couple edit but it such horrible quality that I actually think “Blackout” may be a bootleg. If you think Blood Couple looks rough Blackout looks way, way worse.
