So sad...The Thing, one of the best movies I've ever seen, but because it didn't have an upbeat "hollywood" ending, and was very nihilistic, americans didn't appreciate it when it came out. Me? I must've seen it 50 times. Love it.
@theScytheofGod I think part of the reason why it failed was because the title of the movie fooled a lot of people into thinking it was a straight horror film when it wasn't.
Then how did he fail to read the public mood if he knew about it but had the studio push for the september release, its not his failure its the studios but regardless The Thing is great and the critics that hated it are dumb it was amazing nd better than ET
