I watched this movie when it was released in the cinema and I fell in love with it. I was hoping it will be put on a streaming platform so you can review it. I wanted a professional take on it. I'm so happy you it, its one of the best movies I've watched this year. One of the things I loved about it was the role her father played in shaping her mindset. In a place steeped in misogyny, her father taught her that her gender is not a limiting factor, she can be anything she wants to be and its okay to fall(fail), you can try again. Those lessons are relevant for every girl child even in today's world.
It's very apparent. The way those scenes triggered me, it has to come from a place of truth. You have done something incredible here. I am glad it's on streaming and everyone gets to see this beautiful film. And thank you.
The movie was too short for me and those i watched it with. Also feel her teaching, motherly role was not explored same as the husband's clergy life and her role as a clergy's wife especially because she implied she didn't like the clergy choice of her husband following her father in law's footsteps.
Loved the film. This is probably the first Nigerian biopic that I can say that about. I’ll have to add that the wife and I had a good life at the end when they showed a picture of the real Funmilayo with Azikiwe, but tagged it “Funmilayo Ransome Kuti with Kwame Nkrumah”. 😅 Not a small mistake, I must say.
Thanks for appreciating our film dear Pearl and the mention!! Love you. 💜
I am a big fan!

Thanks for such a thorough commentary all those lines were a direct reflection of how I feel about toxic masculinity and colonialism
