I’ll say it again, the lack of mobile phones really did make everyone at a gig live fully in the moment. Folks not thinking about how something’s going to look on their socials was a beautiful thing. 🙏❤️
i miss the Westend and Deep Ellum like crazy .. made many trips from OK to Dallas back then to shop, eat out and party. always drove down there in my old 87 IROC, and in those days you could park your ride anywhere around there and no one messed with it. good times and memories! ☮
I love the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour in 91 with Alice in Chains. I will never forget this LP with Poundcake, Judgement Day, You of the World, and Right Now!!! Rest in Power Eddie!!!

I remember it was free! My friends and I all took off from TI and made it a 3 day weekend. Eddie looked his best but his best music was already behind him. I know it was free and it was short as I recall. Redbeard and Q102. The very best of times in my life at 30 years old! Nobody had smartphones recording everything!
“Somebody get me a doctor” and Dave were behind him. Lounge act was behind him. Eddie was free and soaring. (Bottomless leather pants were behind whom?)
So, they've obviously got the original film, that's pretty awesome. Makes you wonder what else is in the vault ready for HD/4K remastering! I'm not even sure this is remastered but the clarity is striking. Incredible quality. Thanks ever so much, really happy we still get VH served to us after all these years.

@@Thompsongs I just checked the old version that has been floating around UA-cam for years and you can hear Mike. Something must have gone wrong with either the remix, or his vocal track on the original multi track tape got damaged in storage and they could not use it when it was remixed. Either that or it was mixed by some duffus who didn't even know the music. Haha.
Tried to see them on this particular tour didn't get the chance but I love the video. The crowd is definitely into it!! you can see what a difference not having a cell phone makes.. Eddie and Sammy are wearing red rocker clothing something I didn't notice before. And the band is having as much fun as the crowd always an important thing! Love Eddie's beard too that was really cool!

A rare moment where Mikey's voice was out of commission. Sam's as well. Looks like everyone had colds. But no matter what, Ed's guitar was monstrous as always. The guy was spot on, never missed, even when he did miss, but we didn't know it. Miss this guy desperately. We all love Ed!
I enjoy watching Van Halen live and in their videos, but now I have to brace myself when I do because Eddie no longer with us, so it's a little harder for me to watch now. I still do, but it's not the same anymore. 😢

As I recall, the weather was nice that day for being December. You can see I the opening shot the low angle of the sun in the sky.

I was in Medic school in Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas when show happened, wishing I was in Dallas to see this.
I saw Sammy in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and this was in the set. Van Hagar had some really happy rock.
