I’m a fan of Meat Loaf as I’m sure most of us are, but hearing what happened just makes you realise he was just a regular person with issues like everyone else. Such a pity because it was her first major tour. The music industry is a damn crazy place, I’m glad she defended herself because no one else had the guts to intervene.
I would love to see that moment too.. please surface it if someone has it.
Been watching a bunch of live footage and Patti just kicked azz every time. Also her song Where were you is awesome plus some others.
I would love to see/hear anything Patti did with Meat Loaf. The good, the bad, everything! I love Patti, her own material and the material she’s done with felow musicians/singers! Patti is rock n roll’s Queen! (Not the band but the actual Queen)

That was a great episode. I’m sorry Patti had to go through that, at the same it sounds like there’ll be many more examples of crazy impulsive decisions in the episodes to come.
When will Patti be back or is she saving everything for the book that she needs to write? I am sure it would be a bestseller. I think she can write it and not alienate Die-hard Meat Loaf fans. Plus she needs to talk more about Steinan if and when he comes to rehearsals and tours. And yes, we need an epilogue for everything after Meat died. I find it intriguing. I read Patti’s tweets and it seems there is more to this story.

Yikes! I envied Patti for spending all that time (and making out) with ML, and I'm hoping things got better for her! Patti is the best...her voice and moves and acting on tour really carried him in his later years. I'd love to hear things got better, and that he realized how much she contributed to the success of his concerts.

Thank you so much for these interviews, I’m a fan of Meat Loaf but hearing what Patti went through does make you realise that the music industry isn’t as pretty as it looks on stage. Such a pity she went through such turmoil during her first big world tour, just glad she stood up for herself when this happened to her. Of course Meat Loaf as an artist is incredible, but hearing this makes you realise they are just human with regular issues as everyone else.
Still not sure why the control was on Patti, maybe Meat Loaf was very much into the ‘role’ of the character of the songs and he was extremely particular towards her because she was his characters counter part and wanted it perfect to his vision. Would make sense but the length he went to was a bit shocking.
Agree! The "why" was not said in this interview, but I think it's likely Meat Loaf didn't want any other possible "drama" that can between a bf/gf, and rather only wanted the drama... to remain on the stage.
She is an amazing lady heck of a voice it seems odd she has huge bad things to say but yet stayed and came back multiple times just saying two sides of every story
Patti left the Neverland Express once, of her own volition, in 2006. She rejoined after reconciliation of the appalling way that she was treated during the recording of Bat III. In 2014 she left for good, at Meat's behest.

Enjoying these podcasts but one small criticism is I feel like they go off subject a fair bit and don't go into as much detail as I would like, for example I'd like to know the micro details of what happens on a typical gig day whilst on tour, how they travel, stories from on the road, how sound checks work, is Meat there? What happens after a show? Any times things have gone wrong during a gig etc.
I'm sure you will get round to most of these at some point, just some podcasts I listen to that get thousands of listens each week go into minute detail of specific events and last over an hour.
I don't mean this in a negative of bashing way, just constructive and can't wait to hear more!
Always happy for you to speak your mind. It's the only way that a truly free society can function! At the minute, there's a very specific story to tell, and we're not at all concerned with numbers, but in the not-too-distant future, rest assured, we will deep dive into all of this and more.

Do you think that it was a form of control maybe because he was infatuated with Patti. I always felt he looked at Patti in a certain way which made me think he was in love/lust with Patti. In the meantime, I think there was jealousy by people in the group and maybe even another woman.
