Hi, just wanted to tell you that your videos have been super inspiring and educational for me! I recently quit my 'Ausbildung' and have been feeling kinda stranded, but this seems like a perfect career for me, since I've always loved languages and feel like I would probably work best on my own terms and be good at being self organized and such. Currently I've had RSI it something and so atm I haven't been able to actually get started with translating, and in the meantime your videos have been really useful for me to get a better look into this field. Thank you so much for what you do :)
Wow! It seems like you were in my mind because today I receive a project to translate a website. However, I won’t need to use any CAT tools to do so. Everything will be done directly from WordPress since they add me as an admin of the website. Thank you for sharing those useful tips.
Hey Adrian I have a question - you mentioned in a video about finding direct clients that you could translate their website for them and use it as an example of your work- how would you go about doing this if you don't have permission from the website owners?
Hi Adrain thanks a lot for this video. It is very useful. Could you please talk about technical translation and how can i translate games and what is the tool we use it.
Hello Adrian! I also work as freelance translator (langauges: Albanian, Macedonian, English). If you need collboration from these languages let me know
Hi! I have translated a website from English to Norwegian. The website is now only available in Norwegian. If I want to use the translation in my portfolio on Proz, I have no "proof" that it has been translated. Can I still use it? And how do i add it to my portfolio, do i just add the link to the webside? Love your videos, they have been super helpful!
Great content, Adrian! Thanks for bringing us this info. I have a question: I am about to start a course at University of Washington, Localization Engeneering. It's not a bachelors degree but rather a certificate. In your experience what qualifications would I need to work at a LSP as a translator/linguist?
Very good idea to take the course. Have you seen my video on translation certificates from a month ago? Many agencies will require a formal education degree yes, but not all of them. It's definitely a good start!
