Barring the flaring tempers, I think this kind of free debating across hierarchies can be healthy! This is something we, as Indians in my experience have trouble with. We're either yes-men to seniors to show feigned respect (because if you say one thing in front of the person to show respect and say something totally different in his/her absence, it is clearly feigned) or we mistake freedom of engaging across hierarchies as a licence to endlessly rebel. Healthy disagreement takes maturity and that is where intellectual growth and exchange take place...
