    You are the only creator I’ve found who is consistently making helpful tutorials for intermediate and advanced park skate tricks rather than the basics and I appreciate that so much! Keep up the good work :D

    Can you 50-50 grind with narrow trucks? Nice tutorial, i'll try to slide consistently for now, hopefuly i can at least stall 50 50 in the future

      Depending on your plate/slide block set up you can 50/50 "grind" on narrow trucks as long as your king pin doesn't stick out past your block. When I grind on my narrow trucks it's mainly a combination of rolling on my wheels with my block touching instead of actually grinding on my trucks.

    Hi Shorty! I finally cut down my kingpins so i could learn 50/50s but i realized my block comes down further than my penny trucks. Do you think this will be an issue? Whenever i try even just standing on a rail in a 50/50 position I feel super unstable. TIA!

      What blocks and plate are you using? Standing 50/50 on rail will feel unstable because you have a wide side to side distance to move, it feels better when moving. For me it feels more secure on narrow but it's harder to grind as you have to be accurate with your jump.

    Thank you for the tutorial! I have watched your 50 50 stall and grind tutorial and I got it down. Now I have switched the wide trucks and it feels so different… my trucks are 2.5 wide and when I attempt the 5050 stall on them they feel wobbly on the coping. I thought it was going to be easier on wider trucks but I feel as if they cannot lock. Any advice on this?

      Yes I know what you mean. It can take some time to get use to. Having wide trucks gives you more width to land so you don't have to be as accurate but it can be less stable. I will try to land my skate on the coping not in the middle of the truck, but more to the side so that my wheels touch the coping and help to guide and stabilize. If that makes sense?

    Hey shorty!! I’m currently trying to get my 50/50 grinds consistent but have noticed that I often get stuck in motion & either have to jump off or trip over. I’ve shaved my kingspin down so, I’m wondering if it’s my trucks? Do you have to have specific trucks to grind?
    (I have to XOXO wide trucks from skate rats)

      I have Discotruxs which aren't even really designed for grinding. Do you film yourself? It could be that your toe stops clip the coping if you put too much weight into the front of your skaters for either foot. I know this happens to me if I don't get my weight right. Feel free to DM me some footage to my IG @shortstop.6 and I can have a look to see if it's something different.

    Hi i just watched the how to carve video I'm wondering if you need to have loose trucks to carve because I've had my trucks very not loose and ice had a problem with it :)

    • @ShortysSkateSeries
      @ShortysSkateSeries  3 роки тому +2

      For me I have my trucks quite tight when skating ramps. Because you are using the curve of the ramp and body position you don't need a lot of movement in your trucks

    Looks so easy compared to inline. Surely its not a frontside/backside that doesnt make sense.

    • @ShortysSkateSeries
      @ShortysSkateSeries  3 роки тому

      Roller skating doesn't have topside tricks like blading, so the frontside/ backside in this sense is referring to your body position when entering the trick. Similar to if you were surfing.

      @@ShortysSkateSeries I hear what your saying and I'm not trying to be negative. I just feel that as part of the skate(inline/quad) taking from skating boarding should be a no no as your basically part of the larger skate community. After all the negative shit we got off skateboarders growing up we gotta stick together. In blading we'd call.that a razor grind. Dunno if that gives you any inspiration for a better name lol. Also if you can have frontside or backside for a trick that you point forwards for what do you call what we call backside or frontside on your blocks?

      @@boombaporiginal3359 I didn't come up with the name but it's one used a lot in the roller skating community, I assume the name was taken from skateboarding because roller skates are like a mini skateboard on each foot. From what I've seen roller skaters take inspiration for all skate disciplines and even gymnastics.
