    For pop...I prefer Koreans........they have 2NE1, SNSD, F(x) and alot more artist that produce amazing pop music but then if were talkin about Rock here, ill go with Japan cause i dont know if Rock music exist in Korea haha, and fck Babymetal stole mah heart xD

    • @Lionspel

      Wow BABYMETAL for sure if we're talking of fusion rock/pop!

    • @Lionspel
      @Lionspel 9 років тому +1

      for me, I think 2NE1 and BIGBANG are the only kpop groups that break the pop music into a mix of rock, electro and R&B. For J-pop/J-Rock, I'm still into BABYMETAL. Their energy is the best of all I've seen so far. I'm not looking for a dance that's too choreographed or perfect and BABYMETAL made it like they're just enjoying the stage! And we're not talking about grown up metal bands. Can you imagine 3 teenage girls standing in front of hardcore metal fans and doing their way and still manage to get the crowd wild. It's unique amazing.

    good job on this video, it was hard choosing between kpop or jpop because you chose very good jpop songs, but i still prefer kpop, but I think you should add more boy bands in your videos...

    All the songs I have chosen is from 2014, except Girls Generation "Oh Oh" from kpop, and Exile "no limit" from jpop. E-Girls "High school Love" is speeded up, because of copyright. Hope you like the video(^o^)

  • @jyll
    @jyll 9 років тому +2

    Honestly, JPOP amazes me because its simply beautiful. KPOP is cool and catchy, but I usually don't care about the lyrics. JPOP/J-music has a lot of awesome lyrics (Vocaloid, anyone?) and meaning (especially the ones used for Anime OSTS and/or not sung by idol groups). This is the point that made me love JPOP for years, ever since I was in - I don't know, 4th grade? (I'm in junior high now.)
    Also, one more thing is that KPOP culture cares a lot for their looks/aesthetics, and
    to me, JPOP culture doesn't really give that much focus on their looks and more on their
    music. That's another point that made me admire JPOP. Besides, MUSIC involves sound and voices. Why, when we're talking about MUSIC, would you bring up LOOKS? I'm not angry, I just wanted to make it clear :)
    Aaand, about the arguments regarding the high-pitched/cutesy voices in JPOP, I don't think there's much we can say about it. That's just how their voices are (ex. one singer from SCANDAL). And that's what fits their kind of music, so I don't think there's anything we should argue about. I know there are several who sing in "cutesy" voices but do really well in more mature-sounding songs (ex. Dream, a JPOP group). It's a matter of choice and/or what fits the music more. If you don't like it, okay. Good for you. There's no need to argue.
    I'd love it if you include videos from Dream, too~! *U* More from E-girls~ They're
    awesome~! And EXILE's 24karats STAY GOLD and J Soul Brother's Eeny meeny miny moe is just too awesome! *U* For KPOP, check out After School and GOT7, too~! I LOVE 2PM'S GO CRAZY~ >,> (It's the first time I watched Red Velvet's Happiness, lol, I always avoided it XD) Looking forward to #5 *U*

    I keep trying to look for J-Pop/J-Rock MVs, but a lot of them aren't on UA-cam. How on earth did you find so many good quality videos? :O
    Great job pairing them up, by the way! That was fun to watch.

    • @spiritxlove6539
      @spiritxlove6539  9 років тому +3

      thank you very much:) You're right there is a lot of Jpop/jrock video, that are not available on youtube. I suggest that you use www.jpopsuki.tv it like a site for jpop/rock and you can find really many MVs. But all these videos that I used in this video are available in UA-cam. But some group have their songs and name in Japanese, witch make it difficult to find new groups, artist.
      and one of the company have a youtube channel it's call Avexnetwork. Check it out if you don't already know it:) they have a lot of artist/group:)

    kpop is more diversified!♡

    • @redfish337
      @redfish337 9 років тому +2

      I'll give you a lot of thing- better dancers, better polish, generally better singers. Higher quality all around. The Korean music industry machine is brutal and effective. But diversity? There's almost more variety just among the myriad of idol groups than all of kpop, let alone when you start getting to the weird fringes. And the massive influence of the anime industry and their use of rock songs as opening and ending songs blurs the line from jpop and jrock as well.

    • @nd7231
      @nd7231 9 років тому +1

      k pop definitely isnt even as close to diverse as j pop. j pop has been around way longer and as a genre is way larger. you sound like u seriously never listened to jpop before

    • @nd7231
      @nd7231 9 років тому +1

      redfish337 couldnt have said it better :) except I wouldn't exactly say theyre better singers just because they have better technique. A singer's worth imo should be based on how well theyre able to express and evoke emotion...and in that aspect, j singers would win

    • @redfish337
      @redfish337 9 років тому

      The bar is lower for jpop idol groups. which is mostly the angle that I'm going for here- because K-pop isn't even fielding much of anybody against the aspects of J-pop where they actually care about voice quality.

    from what i see, K-pop thrive because there are little resistance from other genre in Korea because of Korean music market are small, relative to its population. J-pop seems different in style and music because it need to fight against J-rock, J-metal, Visual Kei, Ska (eg. Tokyo Ska Paradise) , Jazz (yes, only Japan has thriving and successful band of Jazz, in USA, Jazz musician have harder time to gain profit).
    In other words, Japan appreciate every genre of music out there and there will always be audience for it. J-pop get about 50% of profit in Japan music industry, compare to almost 100% of K-pop in Korea music industry. But Japan music industry have been the biggest music industry in the world, finally beating USA music industry in terms of profit sale and exchange during 2012 - 2013 period before declining down because piracy in digital download.
    K-pop music industry is small, so the music producer need to think globally how to export their music outside of Korea and fight against other pop music (that's mean choreography, music style need to blend in), while J-pop already get their big fight locally in Japan, that's why their music is isolated. It is very interesting how 2 neighboring country have different music style.

      recrue - the song is okay, not one i think i will remember but it's not bad:)
      White Xmas - I like this song better that the first, :) it's quite beautiful song :)
      Love yourself - I get why it has a bit of halloween XD but I really like this one. understand why you become a fan after this song:) I'm gonna put it on my playlist:)
      D-Motion - In the video I found they were in Korea Mnet M countdown, do you know why they were there? anyway, It's not as good as "love yourself" But it's not bad :)
      Lips - I could see this one in a anime opening,:) but it don't catch my attention :(
      Don't u ever stop - I like the beat, :)
      Real Face - I like this one better that Lips, on my playlist:)
      Keep the faith - i like this one, it's quite catchy :)
      Signal - Sorry, but i Can't find it?
      STAR RIDER- Sorry but i couldn't find the MV but I like the song:) on my playlist:)
      EXPOSE - Simple MV, but I think it suit the song:) I like the song:)
      To the Limit - your right it gives you the hero feeling:)
      Change ur World - the mv it interesting :) the song is also good:) I like the guitar in this one!
      kusabi - Wow! I really like this song, the mv is also really good I like how it was filmed:) ! Though they are only 4 know, they really keep delivery :)
      GIMME LUV - they got the moves:) I also really like this one:)
      COME HERE - The mv is really fun:) i also really like this song!!
      In Fact - Mv is really good:) the song is great!
      overall, I Like the song they have come out with as 4 the most:) Since i don't quite know their names, I think my favorite is the one that are still in the group:) although there is one that got my attention, but i don't know what his name is X)
      he is the one standing ti the right in Come Here, with the sunglass when they are singing in microphones :)
      thank you so most for the list! :)

      @KTechArtCodeMix123 9 років тому +1

      The#piano#girl wow I'm surprised that you went through all of my list O-O but I'm glad! :)
      I found both STAR RIDER and Signal in Google videos. Since you like STAR RIDER, I think you'll like the MV too! It's so radiant *^*
      Signal seems a little old, but I somehow got to like the song and the MV...
      D-Motion... I don't know why they're there I'm sawryyy! But 5 or 6 of them, they still sound good in this song :)
      The guy is Nakamaru Yuichi :) He's funny when he's serious, he's the guy that is known as "cowardly prince" lol. I enjoy watching him since he has great humor. Oh and the group made fun of him of his "big" nose too. Oh poor guy! But I like him too!
      I don't know if you're interested in them, but if you do and have the time to watch it then it's called "CARTOON KATTUN" where they mostly have guests or special guests and most of the time interview them, or they film their trips (Nakamaru is afraid to go bungee jumping, oi him talking about how he felt was hilarious!) and other random stuff. It has over 130 episodes as far as I know, the quality is bad but to me it's worth watching :)
      Thanks for taking the time to watch it! :D

    boys and girls at the end of the day.. there is no "better pop"... It's really ok to compare but don't hate on other people's choice of music... I know how overprotective fans get over their bias groups.. I myself Love Both J-pop and K-pop I also love both their rock..
    I will say this tho.. not every company in japan focuses on foreigners which means they upload a short ver. of a song or not at all..because ppl buy their albums, that's their marketing issue there, they are not that open to foreigners.. there are so many artists you don't know... that just don't want youtube publicity.. both styles are unique.. and what's this about not too many K-rock artists ... have you heard of Jung Joon Young or LEDapple, Royal Pirates. probably not .. there are more tho i just gave some examples..
    REMEMBER music is love... and love is life.. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO =) Especially for including the last song !!! ;)

    Kpop is better than Jpop, while jrock is better and more professional that Kpop or rock. I have seen the first korean band "cnblue" play their instruments on stage without any amplifier, wireless devices and cable .LOL
    There are many japanese bands play with their own brilliant abilities , not copy and paste. But the dance in the girl Jpop songs always "scary" me and that is kinda gross, for me ..

    I think jpop today are copying kpop concept like filming in the studio. Jpop before are filming in outside, etc. Jpop before their music are beautiful, catchy, etc. Today Jpop are too much synthesizer in their music becoming too mainstream in their music. Before Jpop are way better than today, Kpop is better nowadays, Even their music are too westernized but sound is way better, Jpop today that i like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

    • @journeymaker4629
      @journeymaker4629 9 років тому

      All Kpop artists manage to present themselves in high quality music and video music because they have money backing from Korean government. Only certain Jpop artist manage to get better quality because of their big company. Talking about synthesizer, it's world trend, even USA and Europe are following the same phenomena, and it's cheaper to mix song in computer than real recording in studio. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (Kyari Pam Pam) actually use synthesizer in fullest in the song. I know, because Yasutaka Nakata is her producer, who is influenced heavily by euro pop and electronic pop. And I also like Jpop artist Perfume, another artist under him, which have almost same music progression like Kyary.
      By the way, Kpop also use a lot of synthesizer, it just hidden or sound like real instrument, you just need to have an expensive software for that.

      dude ur a korean that doesnt know what ur talking about. k pop was derived from j pop (j pop came way before k pop) and the style it is today? It's basically the korean version of american pop...no diversity

      there is no old KPOP, KPOP only exist in 2006 while JPOP exist on early 80's. if there is old here that was KPOP fashion, they just copied Harajuko fashion in Japan.

      peejay casino sorry, but K-pop came in 1990s, with the legend Seo Taiji & Boys, and in 1995 one of the biggest company was form SM entertainment, and in 2003 TVXQ/DBSK was formed, they where/may still be the biggest Korean idol at this time. If I'm correct they are at nr. 8 of the Japanese End year of 2014, they where the first to introduce foreign to K-pop. Still japan had groups in the 80's, but it was first in 90's they began to call them J-pop. but your right with the fashion.
