Don't even get me started on how awful the ground attacks were. The only two characters that are good to play as are Sonic and Shadow (Lancelot) because they are practically clones and they can use the fantastic aerial attacks.
Considering this was one of the first games on the Wii, and was the first Sonic game on it, the controls had to make effective use of the motion controls. The story is excellent, and it's the only game where I actually don't mind Jason Griffiths as Sonic.

@SonicJGB I can relate to that. When I first played, I didn't think the controls were too bad until I got to Sand Scorpion. Then I realized how shitty the controls were. After leveling up a bit and powering up my skills, it was barely even a duel.
Picked this up a month or two ago for a charity. I'm the only one that uses their Nintendo Wii. Pained to find out how hard it is to move right on this game... I see it gets a lot easier when you have all of the abilities...
the storybook games would be canon, at least i think so, its just that they happened in the actual books which sonic got sucked into, so no one else knows that he went on those adventures
(i don't even think you're gonna read that or reply, but here i go) the Golden bar is speed break and no, that part in there did not inspire the werehog, the werehog obviously was inspired in GOW gameplay style, in GOW there is a lot of parts like that
Technically The Golden Bar is called the Soul Gauge which you fill with soul energy the fire orb though out the map, when filled enough you can use two types of ability Speed Break which makes sonic go his maximum speed, note he is not invincible during this so be careful, the other one is Time Break which slow everything down.
It's the soul gauge. Kind similar to the boost gauge from sonic generations. But unlike the boost gauge you can do both speed up. And slow down time. Basically.
@@lakotapruitt7439 Not really, its just that SEGA is retarded and decided to make the wii-mote behave like you're in a cabin of a car learning how to drive, when they could've just like, used the damn Nunchuck and A/B buttons for the movement and shit like a normal developer would do. Thankfully in Black Knight they decided to remember their customers wants to play games and not get a driver's lincense, so they decided to actually use the motion movements for the combat only and not to control all of sonic's actions. Still both games are just flawed by design and the metacritic scores really shows it, but yeah S&BK is way better than S&tSR in terms of controls at least.
The controls are ridiculous at first but with practice it doesn't become a problem except in later levels of the game when it starts throwing curves and tougher obstacles at you.
What seriously is the point of Sonic games? They just seem so dull and they all seem to play the same + 1 minor gimmick per game. People tend to hate or love the newer games based on arbitrary whimsy alone.
