Proud Lexus owner here! an older Lexus like this will still look clean even with paint problems and I can say that nothing beats the quality build and long term performance of my 2005 ES330!!! Amazing

That guy definitely can paint hella nice in my opinion I think what happened was a chemical Reaction from that clear coat or didn’t let the base coat flash off possibly most likely btw very dope setup with the beat bruh
Another thing is if he would have used a good sealer and prepped really well this probably could have been avoided But shit happens

Yeah, I don’t know what the hell happened cuz I’m not a painter, and I know that the process to paint a vehicle is not as easy as everybody tries to make it seem. But, for him being a painter, he should know what to do and how to do it from the jump. Just another headache when you try to have nice things. Lol

That’ll be dope! But, you still can do A LOT with an Accord. Even though it’s fwd, those cars still have a lot of potential. I don't want to read all the comments below but I've had that happen when I used the wrong paint. I used high quality 2k clearcoat, but it lasted less than a week because the paint was cheap and not the proper mix for a clearcoat to properly bond with. This should not happen from someone who's been doing this daily on different cars.
What sucks is that, the clear, the hardener, the reducer, and the paint was all top notch! I spent a lot of money, to have an amazing outcome, then he went and messed everything up, making our cars hard to look at.
and as a painter, i know exactly what happened.. he should have used the right sealer first.. and then the proper reducer for the paint.. and looks like he reduced the clear coat too i learned the hard way not too.. easy fix my guy.
The easy fix to me is going to be to get the whooooole car redone because from the front to the back is all messed up and doing the same thing. Where were you when I needed you!?!? Lol. No Diddy.🤣🤣🤣🤣
That comes from the person not allowing the paint to dry in between coats.
Yeah, I think it was that, and also not prepping it right and not giving it the proper time/heat to cure. I was pretty disappointed and sad/angry to see.
I’m not a painter but I agree with how you feel about this! If someone makes a mistake like they should be accountable for correcting it!

Thats not a paint problem its a clear coat issue, still a pain to fix but manageable depending on where you take it. Nice cars otherwise but you knew this already, Lol.
I think it might be both a clear and paint problem, cuz when everything was peeling off, in some places you can see it went all of the way down to the metal. Thanks for commenting and thinking my car still looks decent, even with the terrible paint job. Lol. Much respect.🤙🏾

Everything you’re saying is right. Against my gut instinct, I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt to get it right, even if I have to come out of pocket just a lot but more, but that didn’t go well.

I've painted a truck, its really not that hard to do it. But unqualified people put cheap primer, mix improperly on all coats, don't prep enough or overprep the base pre-primer layer and do over 200 grit which causes stuff like this to happen on the basecoat, another thing that happens is they don't wait between coats, then you get offgassing and cracks in the clear. Or you wait too long and you get absolutely no adhesion of base to clear because it wasn't tacked and cleaned. You could have done a better job than this guy tbh.
That’s exactly what other painters have told me as I was asking around and showed them what happened. Sounds like you’re experienced and know what you’re doing.

Nope, because it was a “backyard boogie”. He has a paint booth, the materials, and everything to get the job done. I even saw other vehicles that he painted, and they all looked good, but I didn’t know that my car would start doing this after less than a year of having it painted. I gave him 4 or 5 of my cars in that short amount of time, and they all started doing this. He said to let him give it another try, but I promised myself never again. I do appreciate your comment and feedback though. Much respect.🤙🏾
Damn! Good to know. How many paint jobs did you have to do or ruin before you learned how to do it right from beginning to end?
I didn’t do it myself, but it took me a couple times to figure out what went wrong and who to not trust.

Hard to find reliable painters that aren’t trying to tax you crazy, and I refuse to go the route of getting a wrap cuz it just don’t hit the same. Good luck with that. Seems like we all are in the same journey. Lol

You may as well tried Maaco, but take him to court and get your money back. Those GS look good even with the shady paint.

i work on my own GS and paint my GS i do not trust nobody with any of my cars
I can work on them, but sometimes you can only do soo much before you have to take it to a shop because of the machinery that shops have, and I have nooo idea on the proper steps or materials required to paint a whole vehicle. Lol. If you have those kinds of skills, then good shit! You’re saving sooo much money by doing it all yourself. Built not bought.👍🏾🤙🏾👏🏾🫵🏾💪🏾
That amplifier on the right hand side is nowhere near 5000 watts. Look how small the power cables are...2000 watts would melt them.

A real good paint job will cost atleast 10k.
That’s the scary part. 10grand just to have somebody possibly scratch it or a rock pop up when you’re driving and mess it up. And I’m still against getting a wrap. It just don’t look the same and it still costs thousands to do that. There is no easy way out. Thank you for your comment.

Goodness 2k each😳. I found someone on craigslist to fix a few body issues, then I hit Maaco......best 800 I ever spent plus they gave me a 5 year warranty
Damn, that does sound like a really good deal! With everything though, I get kinda skeptical of shops that get you in and out too quickly, and you hear all of the horror stories about shops like that. Sometimes you just gotta make a decision and see what happens. Glad it worked out for you. Respect.🤙🏾
@@ImportLifeMedia the good thing about them " at least here in Maryland", each shop is individually owned so I met with the owner and shop manager to discuss what I wanted... definitely going back with my GS400! 2,000 would probably get you the most expensive ish they got...good luck and keep the videos coming!!!💪💪💪

If this happened to me some time ago, my reaction and the way I would have handled it would have been different. But now, with some situations, I have to come to terms with taking a loss, keeping it movin’, and never dealing with this person again.

I paint cars for a living an that is from putting to much hardner in your clear an putting to many coats of clear on it
