in modern German reefing we put in many "big" corals (like leather) to start with a big biomass and some hardy fish for nutrition from day one and have a "instant tank". After some time you can swap the corals to sps. Maybe you can have a talk to Alex from Abyzz and Claude Schuhmacher from Fauna Marine (one of the biggest coral farms in Europe) when they are visiting the US again
I worked for a public aquarium and we had the same issue with our ozone intakes we just had a supply of spares that we would replace about every other month
Yay Laura got a shout out! She runs ecomarines in the UK where I am based and she is lovely! Always happy to help out reefers and really knows her stuff!
It’s looking really good! I can’t believe how much hammers spread out when you frag them! I recently cut some of mine and it’s the two halves are essentially the same size as the original.
Good to see you. Nice. As I remember. Calcium. Coral love calcium. Iodine❤. And food. ( fish 💩 poop. ) dry it. And feed it. That EXPENSIVE Reef Reef Crystal. And go for it. 😮. Part A Part B. First thing in the tank was a blue damsel, it never dies. No. Never made it this far. 😊 But it is 😎 cool, to see. Thank You.
If you need more fish and you struggle with QT, get a bunch of freshwater mollies and convert them to Saltwater. They will be parasite free and they will keep breeding for you making more fish! Plus they are algae eaters!
Can you emphasize on cycling with corals again? I am starting my 200 gallon tank soon and I'm very confused. The forums are in a civil war, some people are adamant on letting their tank mature for corals, some people put corals first week. As a beginner, even If I can put corals first week, the question is SHOULD I? I see you are basically starting the tanks with "dry rocks" or no rocks at all. Is there a path I could talk the could help me with the least amount of algae with most corals? Should I do what you did, buy a bunch of corals and put them in my tank. Although my biggest problem with this technique is I don't have the experience to figure out whats wrong if there is something wrong. I might buy hundred of corals just to kill them all.
Love these kind of videos. The Jake anecdote on the ozone really highlights what a gift he was to the hobby, endless knowledge.
💔Jake oh Jake, he was brilliant😔. Your place is amazing and your suit is fabulous!
Love the suit! And the farm is amazing!
Thanks! The farm especially is looking the best it has possibly ever.
I’m always so impressed to see how clean and organized your installations are! 👌🏻

Hopefully they can come visit. We keep missing each other when there is a trade show relatively close by. It will happen one day.

It is impossible for me to listen to you without learning something new.😊
Nice !
Class act in every way!❤
Than is that dude!
Fantastic video, keep them coming and if you wait so long to post another you will have to answer to the reefing gods.
Always great videos Than! Much appreciated
Bro looking as tight as his tanks ❤
Today is a good day
man wears a suit for a tour, what class
Love Thans content
He’s just good at what he does
Looking amazing as always ❤

It's Dapper Than!
What a slob, it's strictly white tie & top hat in my coral farm 😅👍
I get it. White tie is dope.
A dinner jacket and bow tie for the occasion makes it feel special 😃 So when is the sale on those golden hammers ?
How do you prep the salt. Shaken not stired.
“What spurred me on to do an update now was…” an excuse to wear this suit. C’mon, admit it.
Good to see you.

I was literally thinking about your channel
Thank god that JG fitting is easy to replace with anything else with a 1/4" threaded fitting
For sure. It is a 3/8" John Guest that threads into a 3/4" adapter so we have all the flexibility in the world.

Damn good looking outfit
Nice suit.
Thanks!
Lol I'm early in the video but is he going to address the tuxedo?
Than is one of those doods who can rock a tux or a sharp suit literally anywhere.
You wouldn't dress your best for the coral farm?
I did coral before fish, much more gradual creation of a tank ecosystem.

Very interesting 😊. Did you rent that tux just for us ? 😊
No, it's for the corals
@@Lupen69 😀
😮
Did not know that james bond is into corals.
"After doing this hobby for so long..."
Bro, if this is a hobby what does your day job look like? XD
None of this makes any sense to me. It’s a business… is he a hobbiest or a business i don’t get tidal gardens
