He expertly weaves looped guitar riffs together live onstage all while keeping rhythm on suitcase that pulls double-duty as both amp and drum kit, an undertaking that only serves to bolster Rose’s growing reputation as a technically gifted artist. But his talents aren’t limited to his pedal loadout; Rose also injects a dusty Texas soul into each of his songs and displays an elastic range that jumps between a folksinger’s gentle warble and a country star’s pleading holler. That array is plain to see on “Roll the Bones” and “Built to Roam," two songs he brought to the Toyota Music Den stage at this year’s Voodoo Fest.

Best way to describe Shakey, is that he is an artist that does covers of himself, and isnt weighed down by having bandmates, so he can change any aspect of the song he wants depending on how he feels at the time.
I've seen him play this song six or seven different ways and every single one of them still blows me away! Such an amazing artist!

Being hungover heavily in the snow sure makes some good music.
Haven't checked him out for a while but heartening to see he's as good as ever. Just has always had the voice, guitar chops and presence that marks him out. I'd put him on a par with The Tallest Man On Earth. Anyhow, great to hear these wonderful Shakey tunes again and see him with a good audience too.

Why are "some kids" these days more interested in recording the event with their phones instead of enjoying and getting lost in the live experience. I can totally get with Jack White not allowing cell phones at his shows.
Yeah, an epidemic. Live music speaks to you in ways of the common human experience and you're holding up your phone. Holding their phones while their banging too probably.
I find myself asking the same question. I also ask myself this question: Why do I focus on what “some kids” are doing instead of just enjoying the music and being present in my own experience.
And when you are watching and commenting on a you tube video you get to focus on what someone else focused on while filming at THEIR live experience.
Who cares everybody has there own way of enjoying a gig or eating a dinner 😂😂
