The thing I love most about this game is that Shadow wasn't even a true bad guy. The only reason he went on the revenge path was because he was convinced Maria wanted him too. He loved her so much, he was just as willing to cast it all aside as soon as he realized she didn't want that at all. Imagine loving someone that much, that you're just willing to throw it all away for their happiness. Selfless love. That is the mark of a true hero.
now he's a lame edgelord joke in some of the recent stuff like Sonic Forces and Sonic Boom... I miss our old Shadow 😔

On a personal level the song talks about living your life and leaned from your past failures and pushing forward in spite of the fact that “you may never find your way” nothing is guaranteed, nothing is promised. If you want the tomorrow you dream of, “hold on to what if” and live and learn.

I've never really thought there was any deep meaning behind the lyrics.. I just thought it was a cool music for a final boss. It really gives you that 'everybody's depending on you to save the world' kinda feeling which.. technically they are. That's what makes the music so good especially during the fight.
Makes sense with Sonic and Shadow characters, Sonic just living everyday without knowing what'll come next and Shadow learning from the mistakes of his past.

I love how the phrase "When you can't help but follow" at 0:51 is portrayed. It's a nice callback to when Tails wanted to be more than he already was in SA1, and is the one doing most of the work in SA2.

I love just how sincere this song is. It doesn't care if it's cheesy, it's earnest about its endeavors. In a way that's cooler because it means it is being genuine about its message. I am sick of stuff being "meta"; winking at the camera as if to say "this is totally dumb though amiright?". I loved the sincere media of the 2000s, even if its tryhard, even if its goofy, it is real.

I love the tune of the song and the lyrics. From what I can tell it’s about personal responsibility and the consequence of procrastination, somehow in a cool way.

I will fucking never forget this song. The struggle it was for me to unlock the final-final fight, the adrenaline I felt after 10's of adolescent hours! Watching Sonic and Shadow fight the ultimate lifeform with this in the background.
I see now why this song still holds true to this day.

I genuinely love the backing vocals in this song. They are implemented at the most perfect moments and make the song feel so much more full. It also helps the story because it feels like everyone on the Ark AND on Earth is cheering for you. Everyone is on the same team! Everyone is rooting for you! now all YOU have to do is PUNCH THE HELL OUT OF THIS THING!
The fact that this game is 20 years old and SEGA has not been able to recreate this formule and make a successful new Sonic game is truly amazing. This is the greatest Sonic game ever made for sure

This is the one video game that will always be the one that is the most special to me in my entire life. It's not my favorite game of all time, but god damn if its not one of them and my favorite Sonic game ever to exist. No game in the series has ever made me feel such adrenaline and excitement quite like this game. U can throw your "1/3 of the game is good" or your "this game aged like milk" at me, but i will always love this game till the day i die. It's what made me a sonic fan and is also what made me realize how ambitious video games can be. Everything from the style, the multiple characters, the grand story, the high speed action, the freaking MUSIC, it's a magic that i would love to go out of my way to revisit it again in my life if i could. I never get tired of trying to get all the emblems, playing through the story, the chao garden, or playing the multi-player with my brother when i get the chance. It's just that good to me and im so glad i was able to experience it.

Nostalgia is hitting in a such a special way with this game and how well you've explained the feeling that I'm left all emotional.

When I played this game I thought it was pretty alright. But then the last story happened with that one insane level and the emotional cutscene I thought itbwas great. But then the final boss showing up and this song starts playing and that moment showed me how fantastic this game really is
