Thanks for putting this together for us! I am getting ready to install mine, but the product links are giving me a 404 error with Digikey. Do you have the part numbers for the connectors you are using? I am struggling tryi ng to find the male / female 8 pin ones.
I haven’t gotten around to installing mine yet. Too much to learn with the cnc alone. This will help. Suggestion… build a dongle loop back plug to complete the alarm loop. When you disconnect the rotary, plug your dongle in!
It’s been so long can’t remember the speeds and feeds. I’m sure I started with the Bits N Bits data and slowed it down a little. I used their 1/8” O Flute.
If you're setting a z offset off of the MT2 65 tailstock, it's ~28mm. The top of the tailstock is 93mm from the bottom and the live center is 65mm from the bottom. At least those are the dimensions of the one that I bought on Amazon.
sadly only the amazon links are working.
Very unique and helpful channel content. Thanks once again.
My pleasure!
Seriously, I cannot thank you enough
I am up and running my rotary.
@@kenfloyd6541 I'm glad to hear it!
Glad I could help!

Great idea. There's also a method of wiring it such that it doesn't alarm, even without the dongle. It was floated in the Masso forums.
What cam software do you use for the 4th axis?
I use Fusion 360. Unfortunately, you have to either trial or by an extension for it.
Does the spindle have an internal taper? Does it have a hole all the way through?
I wish I could answer. I'm not sure what you're referring to.
Is the spindle hollow, so you could pass a rod thru it? And would it accept a Morse taper with the chuck off?
The version in this video does not have a hollow spindle.
What bit did you use to cut the holes in the 40x20 extruded aluminum?
Feeds/speeds?
I've yet to cut aluminum on my Elite, so I'm nervous.

I feel like there must be different versions that they sell. I see some with the motor orientation on the opposite side too.
