OK, this is probably my favorite video of this bike yet. I think the 2014 is similar to the 6th gen in my eyes. When it first came out, I thought it looked hideous. Then it just started to grow on me, now I own one. I'd really like to own one of these say, 5 years down the road when I've worn out my 6gen.
I bought a 1987 Honda VFR 700 Interceptor brand new off the show floor back at end of 1986 in pearl white and I swear watching this is giving me serious flashbacks!! Beautiful machines then and now, I miss owning one, hope to again one day.
Everyone chill, footpegs have little tips(feeler) you can chew off while scraping pegs on asphalt, you can replace them keeping the original peg, they bolt on. also there is no danger when you scrape them, the peg is designed so it will fold in right direction, not affection your trajectory.
Excellent video ! Really enjoyed coming along for the ride !! Seems like this bike doesn't get much love but I love Honda quality and I love the VFR !! New subscriber !!
Handlich und sehr flott! Meine erst VFR 800 mit einhunderttausend KM verkauft. Die zweite VFR 800f 2021 neu gekauft . Für mich ,auch von meiner Statur her gibt es nichts besseres!
on my 1979 cb750 i did not feal i was riding hard enouf if the pegs did not do that. its the only way you can leave your mark. just keep up on changing the fillers so you dont eat threw the end of your pegs. lessons learned o and i like that it gives you a chance not to catch on the stiff bits. rode hard with a few people and they wend down without the flexie bits great video.
Unfortunately, Honda dropped the Pearl white from the available colors in 2018. I'm waiting for a grey one. Never liked the red and I'm not a black bike guy. Also the supposed new tricolour racy bike doesn't match its specs. VFR appeals me for honesty and simplicity. Pearl white is the natural colour for that. As for the video, all was said already. For everyone looking for this bike, namely if you owned a VFR for the last 18 years, which was only stopped due to a terrible accident, you have high expectations, namely regarding the engine. This video captures the new engine sound in different revs and also some riding tips. I wish I could have more feedback on the riding position and of possible some comparison with previous the two previous versions. Thank you!
I have the opportunity to buy a white one like in the video for a good price but red version was always my favorite. White for me looks exactly like an unpainted set of fairings. I hope the engine will not be a letdown coming from an F4i with 109bhp to a 800cc V4 with only 105bhp.
242 km/h officially, but it does not reach that speed because the transmission is too short and maximum engine output is at about 220 km/h. I couldn't get it much past that. Common problem with foreign (=non-German) bikes. ;)
Cool video. You ride really well -- really smooth on the throttle and shifting your (and the bike's) weight from turn to turn. I'm curious as to what you thought of the bike....
But in general, as all Honda VFRs, it is, of course, a really nice and useable piece of kit. Comfy, smooth, fun and just sporty enough for the road. But it is a bit of an "old man's superbike," it could use a bit more power and a bit less weight...
I owned an all-white 1987 VFR700 and rode the hell out of it for a few years. I loved every minute I was on it! That bike was also a bit of an "old man's superbike" for the reasons you mentioned, but I rode it for 12 consecutive hours on a couple of occasions. That's not something anyone could do on a GSXR. Now that I really am an old man, I think about getting a modern VFR, but I won't. Motorcycle riding is for people who are at the top of their abilities -- balance, vision, reflexes, strength. Old men and fast bikes are not a good mix. Thanks for your replies, and best wishes to you! (Sorry, I don't speak Hungarian. I'm still trying to master English...and I was born in the US!)
Agreed, it's the Mr Blobby of sports bikes. I guess Honda didn't want to make it lighter or people wouldn't buy Fireblades or other race replica nonsense, just for the sake of having a bike that they can actually push backwards up an incline when necessary.
i seen a few not so flattering reveiws on this bike but i think they had enlarged egoes and needed to be seen as falling in line as to be in with the other egoe heads who cares if some bikes are faster or lighter I love this bike for what it is not what it isnt
The rider doesn't know how to ride a bike properly. On a right hand bend he should be on the left most side of his lane, so that he can see further around the corner and not get caught out if the vehicle coming towards him is almost in the middle of the road The opposite is also true of a left hand turn . In the UK anyone on the white bike would look like a police rider!
As one of my rolemodel heros used to say: "Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man!" ;) but thanks for the riding tips, Ben, man always learns new stuff... By the way, I suppose you commented seeing the "fahrt" shots: the camera man asked me to turn this way so the bike could be seen properly on the shots. But thanks again for your kind help...
This is the absolute best vfr800 video i have ever seen, no annoying techno music, no tarted commentary. great video!!!

OMG it looks SOOOO good in white! :)

Amazing video! Cannot but add this to my tried and true 5th Gen
The perfect motorcycle review. Thanks.
Beautiful in white! Great video thanks! :-)

Looks much better in white, also saw a black one which also looks great
Nice, raw sound and angles - beats all that chit chat and music crap. :)
White is definitely my favourite colour on these bikes.
was that the sound of the ground reaching up and biting the bike at 0:47 -ish?
...and at 1:52 too ;)
Lol he either scraped the foot peg feeler or the center stand. Can't really tell but I'm going to go with the foot peg feeler.
Phil Ward
yep, it's the (bit too long) hero blob..
gaberan27 it was the exhaust at 1:52...he was pushing the bike a tad bit harder than what it was designed for, still very capable
holy crap, it looks like he scraped half the damn density of the muffler off
Looks good in white
good rider, tons of counter-steer, not a lot of body movement :)
1:51 is this the exhaust scratching the road or the footrest? :O
the hero blobs on the end of the footrests, you know...
its the centre stand that
should hit the tar before the footpeg
Fantastic video!
Think I drooled a bit. Man I want this bike so bad. Love my vfr, but want this one.
Awesome review
Exactly same as mine, bought it in November 2016, only have 320KM on it , so far.
Super. Thanks. How can I buy this bike from Sri Lanka please.
Is it possible to somehow make a shorter exhaust pipe?
Buy a commercially available slip-on?
Very nice action video!
Can you please tell me what year is this model VFR?
It's the latest model currently in production.

@@sefrasus7360 point a german bike at this displacement that can do more than that..
Los estrivos tocan pronto

Hey, thanks a lot, Mmmyess! Been riding for 27 years now since I was 10.
If you speak Hungarian, you can find my test of the bike on sportmotor.hu ;)

Hmmm. Don't tell that to my RVF400-riding 72-year old father, please! ;)))
Haha... Okay, I'll keep my opinions to myself! It's great that he's still riding. I wish him many more happy and safe miles!
Where was this shot?
+Xitomatl Alicante, Spain
It looks so much like Cadaqués...

If only the VFR had 20 more horsepower and weighed 20 kilos less it would be brilliant!

and 200cc more for more torque for increasing bottommid range punch.

Yeah, that pearl white paint is very nice!
1:33 who the fuck is that?
:) a local...
The panigale we deserved
Front headlight-fairing design fails. Influenced by Panigale front end for sure.
わざとステップ擦ってるだろ~

il prend bizzarement ses virages .... je lui souhaite pas d'avoir quelqu'un en face ...

You must be kidding. He rides like a boss! It’s not a track it’s the open road, so all kinds of things come into play to pick the ‘ideal line’.
@@philiprise
Nope, his line through the corners is ALL wrong, as he "can't see around the bends" due to the positioning he takes!!
